Turkey Trot 2023 was a huge success! We had our biggest turnout to date. Thanks to all of the families, teachers, and students who supported this event. Special thanks to Mr. Maier and his yearbook staff for taking these awesome pictures. @SRMS_Official
Took a risk today and tried a new performance assessment task. Students were asked to create a video that explained the seasons or moon phases. I enjoyed seeing their creativity and collaboration. @SRMS_Official
Great start to 6th grade science watching students collaborate and communicate. We built tall towers with pipe cleaners and found out who knew the planets or could sing the Bill Nye theme song. @SRMS_Official
We wrapped up our unit on energy resources with a coal mining simulation. Students "mined" chocolate chips from a cookie to see how many chips(coal) they could dig out and how the cookie(land) was affected by the process. @SRMS_Official
Always fun to watch students be engaged in a lesson. Students programmed the robot to travel through the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. My favorite part is hearing them clap and cheer when they accomplish the task. @SRMS_Official@MathFraser
