Yes, to all of this! I try to tell all my pregnant and pp patients that "bonding" is not magic fairy dust. It's a relationship that is messy and real, and will grow with care, time, and "good-enough" parenting

Im nowhere demonizing anti-depressants. I’m in support of them. I also think there is more going on here - many moms lack access to basic/safe housing, childcare, maternity leave, etc etc. We are leaving moms behind which definitely affects their mental health!
