The three sub themes of the conference are: Being and becoming a first year student, Teaching first year students & Supporting the transition. We hope to highlight all aspects of the first year experience #efye2020#highered
This year's theme is “One for all – all for one” highlighting that both first year students, older students, academic teachers and adm. staff all have an important part to play in integrating the newly arrived students in the best possible way. #efye2020#studentlife#highered

The final day at #EFYE2019 saw our third keynote speaker Dr Gemma Irvine @hea_irl 'Student Success: from policy to practice, the need to work together' and also the first post-conference National Thinktank sponsored by @ForumTL
If it wasn't for the 2,000+ tweets, the ongoing travels of many delegates and the undoubted continued thinking/planning/conversations, #EFYE2019 might almost have not happened 🤔 #whathaveyoutakenaway?
A big thank you to @Marese_CIT and her team @efye2019 for an exceptionally well organised conference 👏👏 Buzzing with new ideas to take forward and work on. Lots to do yet for improving first year experience but working together we can achieve it! #EFYE2019
@CIT_ie please give our massive thanks to Pat in your catering department, who just rescued two stranded #EFYE2019 delegates and took them back to their hotel. Above and beyond, wonderful woman, who stopped to help out strangers.
As we come towards the end of Day 3 of #EFYE2019 just want to take a second to thank our outstanding student and staff conference ambassador team! You are amazing! #wecouldntdothiswithoutyou
Dr Gemma Irvine says that while bottom up work exists in the mental health & wellbeing for students in HE, but hasn't always been a priority focus in the Irish HE sector. Policy needs to be lived, with an impact upon students' experiential lives. We need to track this #efye2019
Day 3 of #EFYE2019 is here... another jam packed day with papers, show and tell, workshops and keynote Dr Gemma Irvine @hea_irl all before lunch! Looking forward to post conference national thinktank on student success @ForumTL... more photos from Day 2 on EFYE Facebook 📸
