Today, I admitted a patient. I spent ~30 minutes reviewing their chart, then headed to their room. After introducing myself, I spent ~15 minutes in the room chatting with the patient and their family and getting additional history.

A woman called 911 screaming that “her babies had been shot.” Minutes later, a caller who had driven by the scene told 911 that they’d seen a girl running down the road saying “her father was killing everyone.”

@DrBudde21 @PEMTweets The biggest complaints that I hear is it takes too long (I thought it was a bolus over 20 min? 🤷♀️) and risk of hypotension but I've never seen low BP from Mag be unresponsive to fluids
@DrBudde21 I feel like there is a @PEMTweets blog post about this somewhere... I've always been told it reduces admission rate (though I think initially seen in adult studies?) but anecdotally I don't think we use it well @ our institution. 🤦♀️
