America is a thin culture nation. It trades a lot of deep ties for economic gain and efficiency. Market crashes are scary in thin culture nations because society can easily de-stabilize.

Places like Spain, Italy or Turkey are thicker culture nations. They can handle 100 percent inflation or 40 percent unemployment and everything still works, no one is killing each other in the streets. tourists still visit.

But here you could see sky high crime rates, people running red lights, social decay.
