@bethwilensky Try @fitzframes! Their mission is perfect glasses for kids - cute styles, personalization options, *exact* fit, unbreakable frames, special hinges that also don’t break, fun app, and you don’t have to leave your couch to get them. Also you can use insurance & they’re inexpensive.
Someday all the info for school forms will be in one scannable chip implanted I don’t care where, and parents will have no idea how good they have it. Except I’ll be here to remind them. #repetition#myaddressison18otherformsyoualreadyhave
@SarahKSilverman I have the same issue! Drives me nuts. Try @fitzframes - they’re 3-d printed exactly to your size. Love their app. I ended up with three pairs. @heidihertel am I right or am I right?
Thanks, Dr. Benjamin and @McKinleyLions for this detailed schedule! Can you provide any info on what remote learning will look like? I.e., likely to be teachers and classmates from McKinley? Or, as the SMMUSD email implied, be subs with kids from the whole district? TY!
Thank you, Dr. Benjamin & @McKinleyLions for the detailed schedule and sending it so quickly! Can you provide any insight into the remote model? Will teachers and classmates be from McKinley?
@lalasoo@ProfJimi But also there’s that element of intense fascination, like a roller coaster drop, that kind of makes it so I can’t look away even though my guts are inside out.
@lalasoo I doing mind being “on” a big boat, like watching Titanic or touring an aircraft carrier. Just don’t put me under it. And if I’m expecting it (see @ProfJimi’s description or as in a movie) it’s not as bad.
@lalasoo Megalophobia and submechanophobia, yes, but I swear I’ve seen another word for the phobia and can’t find it now. For me it’s between dread and fascination depending on the circumstance. I first noticed as a kid driving by harbors, but never articulated it until I was an adult.
@lalasoo@ProfJimi can also tell you it can be coming upon any object looming large unexpectedly - like a silo in a foggy field. I relate to that, but large metal objects in water are the worst. Don’t take me kayaking near a large metal buoy. How dare you.
@lalasoo And, like someone else here said, the total farce of the Suez Canal incident *and lack of pictures from directly underneath the ship* cancelled out the nauseating dread.
