San Antonio Zoo is honored to announce a transformative $1,000,000 gift from the Alvarez Family to launch The Alvarez Family Gorilla Interaction in Congo Falls and support free zoo field trips for Title 1 second-grade students from SAISD—advancing two key priorities for the zoo and our community.
This dual-impact gift supports the zoo’s Generation Zoo capital campaign, reshaping habitats and guest experiences, while also expanding free zoo access and conservation-focused education for second graders across SAISD Title 1 elementary schools.
In partnership with the SAISD Foundation, the program began by serving 439 second graders from 15 schools and has grown to reach approximately 3,250 students from 30 schools this year, with a goal of serving all 50 SAISD elementary schools in the future.
Through this initiative, students receive free zoo admission and TEKS-aligned curriculum developed by San Antonio Zoo’s education team, with a special emphasis on gorillas—their habitats, life cycles, and conservation—while supporting reading, writing, geography, and critical thinking skills.
Poor fan attendance made the Alamodome unusually quiet tonight. Even from the sidelines, I never had to yell to carry on a conversation. The accusations of piping in noise is ridiculous.
Love this photo for 2 reasons.
1) Great to see the Baseball players still sporting the @AlamoAudible Los Correcaminos 🧢.
2) Every player matters! These 3 guys filled more of support roles in 2025 but they still contributed and did their part. 📷 @eggcellentvp@JuniorMaldo25
I wonder how UTSA football players feel when the coach keeps bringing up NIL funds . . . That's another way of saying " our players & coaches aren't good enough; we need more money to find better people " . . . I'm so over it! I still blame the coaching staff
Let's keep it real, these September tailgates are going to be sweaty. Accessorize for the lots and keep your brow dry with our Banditos bandana https://t.co/OmrFe3xpnr

Apparently @CCSOTX allows parties to continue late in the night for hours . There's an insanely loud party happening a neighborhood away; near Henderson Dr. People have called to complain ( Facebook groups & Nextdoor have confirmed this ) and nothing has been done
We sat down with UTSA Athletic Director Lisa Campos to discuss how the Roadrunners will compensate athletes in the era of revenue sharing https://t.co/sV7XuARlJI
