OLDHAM'S LABOUR LEADER AMANDA CHADDERTON BLOCKED THE COUNCIL'S DEMAND FOR AN INDEPENDENT INQUIRY INTO THE RAPE OF THE TOWN'S CHILDREN. SHE REMOVED THE DEMAND TO INVESTIGATE WHAT HER OWN COUNCILLORS AND OFFICERS KNEW. SHE SAID IT WAS TIME TO MOVE ON. HAD WE MOVED ON, THERE WOULD BE NO NATIONAL INQUIRY.
When she lost her seat, she said: "It's a conspiracy theory. We had a report that said in black and white there was no cover-up." That report was Andy Burnham's.
They thought Burnham's review had closed the scandal down. They thought those of us demanding accountability could be dismissed. We had other ideas.
BURNHAM'S REVIEW WAS PART OF THE COVER-UP
The review was asked for by Sean Fielding, the Labour leader of the council that stood accused. Andy Burnham, then Mayor of Greater Manchester and the region's Police and Crime Commissioner, commissioned it. Oldham Council and Greater Manchester Police, the two bodies under investigation, helped shape its terms.
The police force Burnham was responsible for never gave his reviewers full access to its records, and the council redacted key information. The review found that the police had told the BBC there were just two pieces of intelligence on the shisha bars when their own officers had filed several, and called that proportionate.
Burnham's expert team also failed to interview a single one of the survivors of the town's Pakistani Rape Gangs.
To clear the former council leader of protecting the Pakistani men abusing Oldham's children, the review relied on his own 2014 blog. That council leader was Jim McMahon. His defence were his words on an obscure blog back in 2014 in a town where the majority of people did not read online blogs.
Burnham's team knew what they were doing. They knew a council leader had a duty to stand in the council chamber and warn people what was happening.
It was published on 20 June 2022 and declared there was no evidence of a cover-up. When one of its authors was asked about my allegations, he said there was no basis for them. A review that could not see the police evidence had been used to tell Oldham that the people exposing the abuse were the ones lying.
LABOUR USED THE REVIEW AS A WEAPON
Labour picked it up the day it was published. Jim McMahon, by then MP for Oldham West and Royton, Debbie Abrahams, MP for Oldham East and Saddleworth, and Angela Rayner, the party's deputy leader, dismissed the allegations as conspiracy theories and declared that a line had been drawn under the scandal. On 30 June, ten days after a review that cleared him on the strength of his own blog, McMahon attacked me by name in Parliament.
On 22 July Burnham wrote to the people of Oldham thanking his reviewers for the thorough way in which they had undertaken their work. He said nothing about the police records his own force had kept from them or why his expert team had failed to interview a single survivor.
CHADDERTON BLOCKED OLDHAM COUNCIL FROM DEMANDING AN INDEPENDENT INQUIRY INTO ITS OWN CONDUCT
On 13 July 2022, Amanda Chadderton, Labour leader of Oldham Council and councillor for Royton South, stood in the council chamber and moved an amendment removing the demand for an independent public inquiry into the rape gang scandal. She also deleted the words "including the actions and knowledge of Council Members and Officers" from the motion. In their place came her declaration: "We must move forward."
Labour councillors backed her, and the amended motion passed by 32 votes to 20. Burnham's review had been public for 23 days. Oldham Labour had already used it to shut down any investigation of themselves.
GREATER MANCHESTER POLICE ARRESTED ME SEVEN DAYS BEFORE THE ELECTION
We took our campaign to the streets of Oldham to remove Chadderton from office at the May 2023 elections. We had crowdfunded leaflets and I led a small team of mostly pensioners. We were up against the Labour Party. Even Andy Burnham came to Oldham to campaign against us.
On 27 April 2023, seven days before polling day, Greater Manchester Police dawn raided my home and arrested me. It was the force that answered to Andy Burnham as Police and Crime Commissioner. The allegations were false. The raid, and the attempt to fast-track proceedings and have me remanded, were designed to take me off the streets in the final week of the campaign.
My legal team challenged what was happening, and the police were forced to acknowledge that I was the victim. By the next day they had released me and confirmed no further action. Undeterred, I went straight back to campaigning.
WE REMOVED HER FROM OFFICE
On 4 May 2023, Amanda Chadderton lost her seat in Royton South. Our independent candidate topped the poll. In a ward electing three councillors, the Labour leader of Oldham Council finished fourth and missed the last seat by 21 votes. She was the third consecutive Labour leader of Oldham Council we had helped remove, following Sean Fielding and Arooj Shah.
Her answer to losing was to reach for Burnham's review and call the cover up of the gang rape of little White girls by Pakistani men a conspiracy theory. The review had been written to clear her council. She was still hiding behind it after we removed her.
In 2024 Labour rewarded her with a job as campaigns manager for Yvette Cooper, then Shadow Home Secretary. Cooper became Home Secretary on 5 July 2024 with Chadderton still on her staff. She was also the Home Secretary who tried to block a national inquiry.
The council leader who blocked Oldham's inquiry went to work for the minister trying to block the national one.
After removing three council leaders in succession, in May 2024 Labour lost its majority on Oldham Council. We finally had the numbers to force the council to write to Jess Phillips demanding a statutory inquiry. Later that year the Labour government refused Oldham's request for a government-led inquiry.
Elon Musk then got involved.
On 12 February 2025 we outmanoeuvred the Labour Party and through an emergency council meeting, we forced Oldham Council to vote unanimously to demand a statutory public inquiry. Four months later, the government conceded the National Statutory Inquiry.
None of this happened because those in power suddenly decided to do the right thing. Every one of those steps was forced on them by people in Oldham who refused to stop.
WE PAID FOR IT
The arrest seven days before the election was not the only attempt. I was already facing separate charges on earlier allegations. For three years, under house arrest, I waited for a trial on allegations I knew were false, while I carried on exposing what had been done to Oldham's children.
Every night, I barricaded my front door whilst Labour Party aligned Pakistani gangsters and Islamists, under the protection of Andy Burnham's police force, openly boasted of what they were going to do to me.
They tried to frame me, and they failed. They tried to scare me into submission, and they failed. They tried to silence me. My voice only grew louder.
My one regret was that my mother died before I was able to clear my name. No electoral victory, no public vindication and no national inquiry can ever give that back to me.
Warren Bates was there at the beginning. He was a former councillor who refused to accept what was happening in our town. It was his evidence bundle that helped force this. Warren died before he could see how far we had come. I held his hand at his death bed. His last words to me were 'get them, make sure you get them.'
I made him a promise that I would carry on, that we would not abandon the fight or allow those responsible to bury what had happened. I have kept that promise.
THE PEOPLE WHO TRIED TO CLOSE IT DOWN MUST ANSWER FOR IT
The National Inquiry exists because ordinary working class people from a northern mill town people refused to be silenced, refused to surrender and refused to accept that the powerful could declare the matter closed. Some of the people who began this fight are no longer here to see it. I mourn them every day.
The inquiry must examine Oldham in full. It must call Andy Burnham, who commissioned the review and defended it, and Amanda Chadderton, who used it to block an inquiry into her own council. It must call Jim McMahon and Debbie Abrahams, Angela Rayner too. The same with every Labour councillor that attempted to prevent the truth from coming out. They must explain under oath why they told the children of Oldham it was time to move on.
My name is Raja Miah. I am 8 years in. I am not yet finished. Are you?

You know what we are up against. The mainstream media will not touch my work. Institutions I investigate do not volunteer their records. Politicians do not suddenly decide to hold themselves to account.
And yet, despite all of that, we forced the national inquiry. We did that because enough ordinary people refused to go away.
But getting the inquiry was never the end of this campaign. In many ways it was only the beginning. Now we have to watch where it goes, what it investigates, which places it avoids, which witnesses it calls, which records it obtains and whether the same institutions that failed these children are allowed to control the story again.
Nobody else is going to do that work for us. And I cannot do it indefinitely working on my own. That is why I keep talking about 50,000 committed subscribers.
It is not a vanity number. I did not pluck it out of the air. With fifty thousand people with me means when we uncover something important, it does not depend on a newspaper editor, a television producer or an algorithm deciding whether you are allowed to see it.
It gives us reach they cannot easily shut down.
But there is another reason. I need to build a proper backroom operation around this work. At the moment I am investigating, researching, writing, publishing, producing the videos, running the newsletter, dealing with the technology and then starting again. It is unsustainable.
I need people behind me who can take care of the technical and production work so that I can spend my time doing the thing I do best. That is why we have been pushing so hard for new paid subscribers.

🚨 THE SMOKING GUN: ANDY BURNHAM HIRED HOPE NOT HATE BOSS AS DEPUTY CHIEF OF STAFF!
I have tracked the corrupt paper trail between radical activist lobbies and Number 10, and the evidence is worse than anyone imagined.
Hope not Hate has spent years weaponizing local councils against patriotic Britons, smearing working class voters, and taking millions of pounds from billionaire trusts.
Now look at who is actually sitting inside the heart of government pulling the strings for Prime Minister Andy Burnham.
Alison Phillips resigned as a director of Hope not Hate on July 16, and barely four days later was installed directly as Burnham deputy chief of staff inside Downing Street.
In that exact same week, Burnham promoted another former Hope not Hate director, Ruth Anderson, straight onto the government frontbench.
At the very same time, billionaire heiress Sigrid Rausing funneled 1.8 million pounds into Hope not Hate while cutting a personal 150,000 pound cheque directly to the Labour Party.
This is how the shadowy Westminster machine truly operates.
Billionaire cash finances a radical activist outfit to police your speech, and then those exact same directors get parachuted into top state jobs to dictate national policy without winning an election.
The very political lobby group that exists to crush working class dissent and shut down border debates is now literally running the Prime Minister office.
Retweet this exclusive investigation immediately to expose the radical lobby group pulling the strings in Downing Street. 🇬🇧🔥
GIRLS AS YOUNG AS 13 WERE BEING RAPED AND SOLD FOR SEX WHILE IN BIRMINGHAM CITY COUNCIL'S CARE.
WHEN THE WOMAN WHO INVESTIGATED THEIR ABUSE ACCUSED THE COUNCIL OF BURYING THE EVIDENCE, JESS PHILLIPS WAS BIRMINGHAM'S APPOINTED VICTIMS' CHAMPION. WHEN COUNCIL OFFICIALS DECLARED THERE HAD BEEN NO COVER-UP, SHE WAS STILL THERE. WEEKS LATER, SHE BECAME AN MP.
These were children entrusted to Birmingham City Council for their protection. Dr Jill Jesson's investigation documented rape allegations, beatings, burns, pregnancies and girls taking overdoses.
The council's own researcher found that Social Services had no systematic response to allegations of rape, but was concerned about protecting itself from bad publicity.
Then, in November 2014, Jesson publicly accused Birmingham City Council of burying her findings. She said references to the ethnicity of the men had been removed and copies of her report ordered destroyed.
JESS PHILLIPS WAS BIRMINGHAM'S FIRST VICTIMS' CHAMPION.
She had been appointed in 2012. In April 2015, senior council officer Peter Hay acknowledged that an opportunity to protect children had been missed, but maintained there had been no cover-up. At the time, Phillips was still serving on Birmingham City Council.
Weeks later, she was elected Labour MP for Birmingham Yardley. Phillips subsequently became the Government's Minister for Safeguarding and Violence Against Women and Girls.
JESS PHILLIPS MUST BE CALLED TO GIVE EVIDENCE BEFORE THE NATIONAL STATUTORY GROOMING GANGS INQUIRY.
She must answer questions about her time as Birmingham's Victims' Champion and what action she took when the allegations about the Jesson Report resurfaced.
AND BIRMINGHAM TODAY.
143 children identified as at risk of, or experiencing, sexual exploitation.
98 live investigations. Six confirmed grooming gangs. Two private-hire drivers stripped of their licences following police intelligence concerning potential sexual offences against children.
Birmingham is finally on the national inquiry's list. But the fight now is over what evidence Baroness Longfield obtains and who she requires to answer for the decisions made.
THE COUNCIL HAD A VICTIMS' CHAMPION WHEN THE ALLEGATIONS RESURFACED. THE PUBLIC DESERVES TO KNOW WHAT SHE DID.
My latest investigation follows the evidence from the girls in Birmingham's care homes through to the council's handling of the report and Jess Phillips's subsequent political career.
Read it here;

The National Inquiry is entering the phase that will decide not just where it goes, but what it is prepared to confront once it gets there.
Birmingham proves why that matters.
We fought to get the city onto the list. Now, before the first witnesses have even been heard, a Pakistani politician is already trying to decide which questions should be pushed out of focus.
That is why the pressure cannot stop at getting places named.
Red Wall and the Rabble is now more than 15,000 strong. In the last three months, more than 1,000 people have committed to a paid subscription, and 250,000 people have read one of my investigations so far this year.
We forced Oldham onto the list. We showed the way in Bradford. We campaigned relentlessly in Birmingham and across Wales, and both were named.
None of it was handed to us.
And now the next fight begins. Making sure the Inquiry actually asks the questions politicians and institutions spent decades avoiding.
No political party funds this work. No institution stands behind me. Everything I publish remains free because the evidence needs to reach as many people as possible.
The people who pay are the people who give me the independence to keep investigating, keep applying pressure and keep forcing these questions into the open.
We set out to reach 2,000 paid subscribers. We still need another 1,000 more.
If you want this Inquiry to go where the evidence leads, regardless of who it embarrasses, who it exposes or which political interests it threatens, become one of the next 1,000.

LITTLE GIRLS WERE BEING TAKEN FROM BIRMINGHAM COUNCIL CHILDREN'S HOMES AND GANG RAPED. SOME WERE JUST 13 YEARS OLD. THE MEN WERE RAPING, BEATING AND TRAFFICKING THEM FOR SEX.
THE GIRLS WERE SUFFERING SUCH TERRIBLE PSYCHOLOGICAL HARM THAT SOME WERE TAKING OVERDOSES .OTHERS WERE INJURING THEMSELVES. INSTEAD OF RESCUING THESE CHILDREN, BIRMINGHAM CITY COUNCIL WAS WORRIED ABOUT BAD PUBLICITY.
In 1991, Dr Jill Jesson investigated twenty girls in the council's care. She documented allegations of rape, serious physical injuries and devastating psychological damage. Several girls had taken overdoses. Others had inflicted injuries upon themselves.
THE COUNCIL WAS CONCERNED ABOUT PROTECTING ITSELF FROM BAD PUBLICITY.
Those are not my words. They are recorded in section 5.7 of Jesson's report, where she identified concern about protecting the children's homes, their residents and the Social Services Department itself from bad publicity.
Four years later, Director of Social Services Richard Evans presented the report to Birmingham councillors. He defended keeping it from wider circulation, warned against "voyeuristic intrusion" and claimed that concerns about the report being buried had been "deliberately manufactured".
Birmingham councillors then voted against an inquiry. Twelve votes to five.
But the story doesn't end in 1995.
_________
NOW LOOK AT JESS PHILLIPS. BIRMINGHAM'S FIRST VICTIMS' CHAMPION.
In June 2012, Birmingham City Council appointed Labour councillor Jess Phillips as its first Victims' Champion. Her role included representing victims and lobbying the police and criminal justice organisations on their behalf.
Now look at what happened while she was serving on that council.
NOVEMBER 2014.
Dr Jill Jesson publicly alleged that Birmingham City Council had buried her report into the sexual exploitation of girls in its care. She said she had been instructed to remove references to the ethnicity of the men involved and that copies had been ordered destroyed.
APRIL 2015.
Senior council officer Peter Hay addressed the controversy before the council's scrutiny committee. He acknowledged that the reasons for withholding the report were unclear, but maintained there had been no cover-up.
MAY 2015.
Jess Phillips left Birmingham City Council after being elected MP for Birmingham Yardley.
Think about this sequence. Birmingham had appointed a politician specifically to champion victims. While Phillips was serving on the council, serious allegations resurfaced about the suppression of evidence concerning girls who had been raped and sexually exploited while in council care.
WHAT DID BIRMINGHAM'S VICTIMS' CHAMPION DO ABOUT THE JESSON REPORT?
Did Phillips demand to see the original? Did she ask who had ordered copies destroyed? Did she challenge the council's assurances that there had been no cover-up? Did she demand an independent investigation into what happened to the girls and the men who exploited them?
These are questions about what happened during her time in public office. The answers should be established from the records.
Phillips subsequently became the Government's Minister for Safeguarding and Violence Against Women and Girls. In that role, she rejected Oldham's request for a government-led grooming gangs inquiry. The government continued to favour locally led investigations until Baroness Casey's audit prompted the announcement of a national statutory inquiry in June 2025.
THE WOMAN APPOINTED TO CHAMPION BIRMINGHAM'S VICTIMS LATER BECAME THE MINISTER RESPONSIBLE FOR SAFEGUARDING.
The question is what she did, in either role, to uncover the truth about Birmingham's historic failures.
AND BIRMINGHAM TODAY.
- 143 children identified as at risk of, or experiencing, sexual exploitation.
- More than half had repeatedly gone missing.
- 98 live child sexual exploitation investigations.
- Six grooming gangs identified..
- Two private-hire drivers had their licences revoked following police intelligence about potential sexual offences against children.
And the council's published figures still omit the ethnicity and nationality of the suspects.
Under pressure, Birmingham City Council has republished what it calls the Jesson Report. But the document released is the version presented to councillors in 1995, complete with Richard Evans's paper warning against "voyeuristic intrusion".
THE ORIGINAL, UNALTERED REPORT THAT JESSON SAYS SHE WROTE BEFORE REFERENCES TO THE ETHNICITY OF THE MEN WERE REMOVED HAS STILL NOT BEEN PUBLISHED.
The national statutory inquiry now has the power to compel evidence. It must establish who altered the report, whether copies were destroyed, what happened to the men exploiting the girls and what successive council administrations did when these allegations were raised.
That includes examining the records from 2014 and 2015, when Birmingham had an appointed Victims' Champion and the Jesson controversy was once again in the public domain.
THIRTY-FIVE YEARS AFTER THE GIRLS WERE ABUSED, THE QUESTION IS NOT WHETHER BIRMINGHAM NEEDS ANOTHER PROMISE TO PROTECT VICTIMS. IT IS WHETHER THE PEOPLE WHO HELD RESPONSIBILITY FOR VICTIMS WILL FINALLY BE REQUIRED TO ACCOUNT FOR WHAT THEY DID.

BIRMINGHAM CITY COUNCIL TOOK GIRLS INTO CARE. IT PLACED CHILDREN AS YOUNG AS 13 IN HOMES IT KNEW THEY WERE BEING TAKEN FROM TO BE RAPED AND TRAFFICKED.
When the girls reported rape, the council recommended teaching them which condoms to use and how to deal with pimps and their clients. The police cautioned the children for soliciting. Some were charged. The men were not.
When Birmingham finally commissioned its own research, its researcher, Dr Jill Jesson, reached a devastating conclusion. The care system itself was contributing to the girls' exploitation, because it was failing to meet their needs.
To all intents and purposes, Birmingham City Council was rounding up little White girls and pimping them out to gangs of Asian men.
I do not say this lightly. The council took responsibility for these girls. The men exploited them. The council's report proposed teaching them how to deal with pimps and which condoms to use. The police then criminalised the children before the council covered up what was taking place.
No one knows how many children were involved.
In 1995 twelve Birmingham councillors voted against finding out. In 2025 JESS PHILLIPS, the Birmingham MP who was the safeguarding minister, refused a national inquiry that would have found out.
Phillips knew that a national inquiry was the only thing that could reach the council in her own city. She knew all about the gang rape of little White girls by Pakistani men. In September 2025 she told parliament that girls had been telling her for years that police were involved in the abuse.
So why was it that JESS PHILLIPS tried to prevent a national inquiry? Could it have anything to do with the demographic of the men she relied on to stay in power?
Is Jess Phillips yet one more Labour politician that sold little White girls for votes?
________
AS FOR BIRMINGHAM TODAY
98 live child sexual exploitation investigations. Six suspected grooming gangs on the streets that the police know of. Two private hire drivers stripped of their licences following police intelligence about potential sexual offences against children.
And the ethnicity of the men involved is still hidden.
Under pressure, the council has now republished what it calls the Jesson Report. It is the version its own Director put in front of councillors in 1995 to close the matter down, with the ethnicity of the men taken out and his paper on the front saying the concerns had been "deliberately manufactured".
The original has not been published.
Read my analysis of what the council has released and what it has kept back, and look out for my live transmission where I go through the Jesson Report line by line.

🚨 EXCLUSIVE: ANGELA RAYNER CAUGHT USING 15 MILLION POUNDS OF PUBLIC CASH TO RIG ELECTIONS!!!!
I want every working person in this country to confront the terrifying reality that the state is weaponizing your own wages against your ballot paper.
Under the guise of a 15 million pound recovery fund created after the Southport tragedy, Angela Rayner quietly financed a partisan propaganda machine inside local government.
Official evidence confirms public funds went straight to the Ella Baker School of Organising, an activist network founded by former operatives from Hope Not Hate.
Council staff across Birmingham, Sheffield, and Blackpool were forced through state funded sessions instructing them how to steer working class communities away from Nigel Farage.
Local bureaucrats were literally trained on how to distract ordinary residents from small boat arrivals and manipulate the public away from voting for Reform UK.
Course registration materials openly declared their core objective was to avert the impending disaster of a democratic right wing government.
The political establishment claims there is zero cash to protect military veterans or keep elderly pensioners warm, yet Angela Rayner finds unlimited funds to turn council offices into political re education camps.
Labour knows they have permanently lost the trust of ordinary Britons, so they are deploying taxpayer funded psychological operations to rig the ballot box from the inside.
Retweet this exclusive investigation immediately to expose Angela Rayner using public money to wage war on British voters. 🇬🇧
