From 5 days ago. The media is afraid to show any footage of the protesting farmers in Germany. But we must share it. They are vital to our food supply.
A quick Timelapse video of a recent install. Very busy packing area so we made the best of what usable footage we got. The guys here love the new meggson TP100 pallet stacker. Currently packing 11 pallets of eggs/day so saves a lot of lifting.
Some pics of 3 pallet stackers we installed just before Christmas. One of these will be doing 11 or 12 pallets a day! We have one machine arriving at the end of this month, if anyone is interested give me a call on 07858870066
A true example of egg inflation by a major supermarket. First photo was ten days ago with egg at 20p/egg. Photo from today with egg at 30p/egg. In that time the same supermarket has inc producer price by 5p/doz!!! 10p per egg for them, 0.42p per egg for producer!
A more damning editorial couldn’t have been written about the supermarkets conduct in the egg industry. It’s The scandal of supermarket egg pricing and rationing will soon tarnish their reputations | Comment & Opinion | The Grocer https://t.co/VVaaeBsrNK
It’s quite simple. Many egg producers have been paid well below the cost of production this year. When their flock comes to the end of lay, they’re choosing not to restock. This fiasco was completely avoidable and should shame many of the retailers.
Here I go again! Media siding with the supermarkets. All farmers want is a fair price, they’ve already upped the price for you as the consumer why can’t it filter down to us so we can cover costs?? #payfarmersfair
They pay us 10p and sell them for 27p! That’s why they haven’t got any eggs!! I left a 5 year old 16000 bird shed empty for 5 months because it’s not worth stocking she’s to lose money!! https://t.co/3vycZbGSS0
Not sure @asda reasoning for 🥚 shortage on news @BBCRadio2 this morning is all due to AI. Producers going out of business because the retailers refuse to pay a fair price for our 🥚.
No reply from @sainsburys as you’d expect. But it’s a clear power play from the retailers, they’ll have paid a lot to import those eggs, but they don’t care, it’s a way of telling the UK farmer that they can import eggs at will and have no need to pay a decent price for UK egg.
I’ve had to do it again. A new update on the egg industry, supermarkets taking the mick out of British Farmers! All we want is a fair price to keep producing great British food!
🍳 Have we been taking eggs for granted?
As a result of a sharp rise in feed and energy prices, many egg farmers are choosing not to repopulate their sheds. According to @BFREPA, some are even considering leaving the industry. (1/3)
The @the_brc are talking out of their arses! What a ridiculous statement, what the hell will happen to egg prices when UK (and other country’s ) production drops because of rising costs? The whole idea is that we are trying to prevent that scenario #CostOfLivingCrisis#freerange
British free range and organic egg farmers are considering a mass exodus from the industry after major supermarkets refused to help them cover spiralling feed and energy costs.
