Australian baby boomer. Dredging consultant, former teacher, Army reservist. Supports an Australian Republic, Indigenous Treaty. Fremantle Dockers tragic.
@AaronDodd Good point but she is consistent in her policy. Her agenda has definately not "transed anywhere", not only is it the same as 1996, but I hear the unmistakable ghost of Lang Hancock. As unmovable as Mt Augustus.
@CollinSLKoh Sand dredging in Malacca Straight brought us into contact with both. Careful navigation required (both literally and figuratively ) but all very good.
@AaronDodd@SkyNewsAust Reinforces the hostility by the Canberra establishment image for her hard core MAGA faithful, but a good weapon in ring-fencing ON broader growth. Her speech will do the rest. It calls for the Australia I remember in 1958 when at rural primary school and untouched by migrants.
@graham_euan@koreatimescokr And excellent points:
1. The age old national reflex of blaming our big siblings for things that are our own responsibility. One example, British nuclear testing in Australia. It was not forced on us.
2. Future cooperation with South Korea. I'm still inclined to build a plan B.
@NickBryantNY Looks like the triumph of the manosphere to me. While Trump remains ascendant, the push back against post WW2 social progress will continue.
@AaronDodd If BHP Port Hedland strike goes ahead. Flouro wearing strikers are all ON up there. But ON will take instructions from Hancock (a port operator). Looking forward to the result.
@graham_euan Not sure I agree. Australia has even less the industrial base that it had in 1941, when even Ford Geelong switched to landing craft manufacture. We can arm up but not sustain.
