I've seen a number of people suggesting using poison like nightshade, or posting your art as a gif. While it sounds nice, they don't help much if at all.

I think we should always ask our l2d artist, rigger and/or designer to tell us how they want to be referred as!

For me personally, I like being called “mama” even if I am he/him because those terms for me are not gendered, but that is just my personal perspective of it 🙌 for me, what it means is mama=artists papa=rigger, but again that is JUST ME!!

Different creators have different opinions, some creators rather not use the term at all and just want to be referred as creator,artist,rigger,etc and that’s fine!!

Let it be for a gender preference or just a personal preference, not wanting to participate in the mama/papa culture in Vtubing is totally fine and should be respected, some people don’t want to live that fantasy and that’s ok!!
Please let’s all just respect everyone’s preferences 🫶💗

With all the talk of tips vs subs atm I've made a quick breakdown of some of the main ways to show love to your fav streamers and more importantly, how they actually help 🖤

💰 Tips: Max financial support to creator
🔔 Subs: Ad-free viewing meaning you're less likely to leave during ad breaks + you get perks
🎁 Gifteds: Ad-free viewing for others to avoid some viewer drop off + can also help a little with discovery
🛒 Merch: Streamer usually gets a better cut than a sub + you get something (usually physical) back
🕒 Engagement: Free & vital! Views, chats + raids build community, atmosphere + ultimately discoverability

The best method is usually a mix, but knowing the options helps you choose what works for you and the streamer in that moment 😊 I hope this helps!
