AI’s huge clean energy demand is now doing the unthinkable:

Bringing back already shut down nuclear reactors.

Three Mile Island reactor 1, which was decommissioned, in 2019 is being given a second life by @ConstellationEG to power @Microsoft datacenters.

To clarify, this is ~ obviously ~ not the same reactor that had an accident in 1979. It’s the plant’s other unit, which functioned without incidents for forty years.
