The Minister for Technology and Innovation, Dr. Robert Olet Egewea, has recalled a major conference held in the United Kingdom in 2007 aimed at highlighting the LRA civil war’s impact on Lango sub-region.
Speaking to Qfm and Oroma TV, Dr. Olet said he personally drafted the concept paper for the conference, which took place at the peak of the Lord’s Resistance Army insurgency.
“The war was devastating Lango, but sadly, much of the international attention was being given to Gulu in Acholi,” Dr. Olet said. “Our people were suffering too, yet the Lango story was not being told.”
