Alright, I'm going to try fully switching to Bluesky.
Seems a large enough critical mass over there now for following events in Ukraine, which is really all I use this site for anyways.
@Tendar The most we can hope for is that Trump doesn't try to actively obstruct allied support for Ukraine.
If he just abstains from directly providing aid, there is a chance Europe could step up.
If he blocks sales to allies that support Ukraine, it will end poorly.
@mhmck It's incredible to me that some pro-Ukraine conservatives are still in denial of this obvious outcome.
I would not be surprised if Trump went as far as blocking military sales to countries that support Ukraine.
Boris Johnson on 🇩🇪 Germany's stance on the eve of the invasion of 🇺🇦 Ukraine:
"We had a meeting with Olaf Scholz and his team. One of his senior advisors said - Well, look, if this is gonna happen, perhaps it would be best if we didn't actually resist and let it be over fast."
My guess is he most likely talks about Jens Plötner.
The richest man in the world appears to have worked in the US without authorization. According to experts, if he did so and lied about it as part of the immigration process, he could be denaturalized. https://t.co/SdvgDSDL1x
@michaeldweiss It's incredible that this is happening in an election and both candidates are desperate to ignore it.
Trump could run to the right of Harris and land substaintial support across the spectrum.
The fact that Turmp is so willfully ignoring a political win should be suspicious.
🇰🇷🇰🇵🇷🇺🇺🇦 Per a South Korean intelligence assessment seen by Bloomberg, North Korea has provided Russia with 8 million rounds of 152mm & 122mm ammunition, and ~100 KN-23 ballistic missiles.
Russia uses these freely against Ukraine, but Ukraine is prohibited from hitting back with ATACMS, Storm Shadow or SCALP-EG.
@Rail_splitter1 Even if the Pentagon came by this honestly, the WH doesnt't disclose the context, restrictions, and goals that they imposed on the Pentagon decision-making process.
If they forbade the remote possibility of Russia losing as an outcome, then no strikes makes sense.
@EHunterChristie@andriyhaydash@x102reddragon Ukraine has so far avoided tactics closer to terrorism, or what the West call "Hybrid Warfare" when Russia does it in Europe.
I have zero doubt that Budanov could have mysterious explosions going off in NK and all over Russia if he was inclined and allowed to do so.
@RealJakeBroe I'd absolutely believe he had done something like that. In a heartbeat.
I don't even think his followers would be that surprised.
But skeptical that it would actually come out now.
And more skeptical that it would be accepted as real and result in less than 47% support.
