We have an important correspondence published in Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, the official journal of the American Gastroenterological Association.

We provide evidence to externally validate the fact that liver injury from herbal drugs/supplements is far more worse and severe for the patient, than liver injury from modern (conventional/ prescription) drugs.

A common argument that practitioners of alternative medicine such as Ayurveda/ Homeopathy/ Naturopathy or wellness influencers bring is that "modern medicine also has side effects"

Yes. It has.
But look at it from a logical angle.

Modern medicines are prescribed because they have studied benefits. In their recommended dose, duration they have more benefits than risks. Alternative medicines are prescribed based on beliefs and faith, not evidence. There are ZERO studies conducted to identify beneficial dose or duration. Prescribing alternative medicines come with higher risks than benefits.

In terms of inducing effective remission, it depends on the disease.
Chronic pain is its own animal that is multifactorial and certainly there is a role for non-organic modalities
