@MichaelSLinden Assets are not taxed until they are sold realizing a profit or a loss. When it is sold at a profit, it is income. Do you pay federal taxes on you 401k when it goes up even though you aren't drawing on it (selling shares)? R u federally taxed on a house you haven't sold?
