Yesterday, Alhaji Ardo Risku was alive, travelling from one peace meeting to another, preaching coexistence and urging restraint. Today, he is dead. And suddenly, nobody knows anything.
Nobody saw anything. Nobody heard anything.
Nobody knows the killers. Everyone is waiting for “investigation.”Interesting.
Risku himself had previously spoken publicly about Fulani youths who, according to his account, were ambushed and killed, with attempts allegedly made to conceal the crime until a survivor exposed what had happened.
Now fate has dealt him a similar tragedy. A man who spent years trying to prevent violence has himself become a victim of violence.
The first reaction should have been outrage.
The second should have been a determined hunt for those responsible. Instead, the familiar chorus begins. “Let’s not jump to conclusions.”
“We don’t know who did it.”
But this is not new. In Benue, nobody dares to expose any criminal of wrong diong. Infact they see the criminals as demy gods. They dare not speak about them or expose them. This was why everybody goes silent even while the perpetrators are known.
Triple R Kannywood, led by Alhaji Dauda Kahutu Rarara, met with Hon. Abba Bichi at the National Assembly to discuss security, unity, and national development. 🇳🇬🤝
