Introducing…FIORI💕🐘
The name FIORI in Italian means flowers🌸
📌It was the nickname of an elderly Swiss lady who set up the trust that have given #EHRA and the #desert#elephants a lot of support nearly over the last 2 years.
The name is just perfect 🥰🐘

#alternativeenergy#solarpumps#communityfirst#SOLAR#energy
Our solar installation project allows both elephants and humans access to water.
We have installed over 6 pumps so far, and look forward to installing more. It is just the financial relief local communities need!
@504_dr@MinistryofEnvi2 @AGA_artenschutz 2. Drones sound like a swarm of bees which stresses/ alarms elephants. 3 they are very expensive to get and maintain. Collaring elephants triggers short-term stress and quick recovery. Collars provide real time movement data, early warning signals & protection.
🐘🐘🐘 Massive thanks to the @MinistryofEnvi2 (MEFT) for providing their amazing veterinarian Dr Axel Hartmann who helped us successfully collar the elephants
The collars were funded by @AGA_artenschutz to allow us to monitor desert elephants.
@504_dr@MinistryofEnvi2 @AGA_artenschutz Hi there, thank you so much for your concern for the elephants, which we share 100%. Using drones is not a viable alternative for multiple reasons: 1. Their battery life is extremely short, therefore making no sense in the type of environment we work in;

Rachel Harris graduated with a degree in business in 1999 and now runs an elephant conservation NGO in Namibia. They are struggling since the outbreak of Coronavirus. Read more about Rachel and support if you can: https://t.co/kWRRfl6bkA
EHRA featured on the @BBCNews 🙏🐘 Please help us fund our #elephant#conservation work so that can continue keeping elephants and communities safe in #Namibia#Africa. Our income has dropped to zero due to #Covid_19. We urgently need your support! https://t.co/fJyUAwbxVw
Super proud of my sister Rachel Harris on the news this evening - without volunteers her charity @EHRANamibia needs vital funds to support the local communities and elephants.
@duncancraig_ We’d love to shoot across some amazing feel-good content your way! Like this rare photo of Namibia’s desert elephants crossing a FLOWING river in the Namib Desert! First time in many years! Where can we send some more news to?
It's been a fantastic week for our #elephants residing in the Ugab River. After many years of drought, it has finally rained and our rivers are flowing. Photo was taken in front of EHRA's Base Camp by #conservation#volunteer Eva Baauw last week. #namibia#wildife
