#mufc started to strengthen their interest in Youri Tielemans after he impressed at the World Cup.

As a sign of his respect to Aston Villa, having been informed of United’s interest, Tielemans wanted to ensure negotiations were carried out “cleanly and correctly”.

Before speaking to United, Tielemans was insistent on calling Unai Emery, wanting to tell him himself how he felt and that he wanted to speak to United.
