Which city has the best bus service? Lahore, Karachi, Rwp/Isloo, Peshawar or Multan? 🚌🥇🍾
2023 marks a decade of investment in mass transit across Pakistan, starting with the OG Lahore Metrobus in 2013. I take a look for @dawn_com to see where do we stand today.
I am excited to share that effective March 2023, Telenor Bank/Easypaisa is profitable!
Over the last 5 years more than $300M of FDI was invested in building scale, innovation and digital transformation of the bank. So this is an important milestone for Pk digital ecosystem

All 9 routes of @pbsbrtsindh haven’t started, but 6 are functional, laying down a much needed network of high quality buses across the city. This is #Karachi Transit Map as we close 2022. Lots more to do, but something to cheer as we enter 2023! 🥳🎊
Brazil are playing just now. That means there’s no better time to talk about the Brazilian midfielder who moved to Italy so that he could “read Gramsci in the original language and study the history of the workers' movement."
A thread about Sócrates. 🧵
I’ve returned from my trip to Amsterdam! It was lovely.
As a wheelchair user, I found it much more challenging than I had anticipated.
My thoughts on transport and street accessibility…🧵
The social media campaign against the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2018, is malicious, opportunistic and entirely baseless
Some facts and context:
Six years too late, & 350 meters short of being integrated into the city’s nascent but growing public transit system, the Abdul Sattar Edhi BRT (Orange Line) finally opened yesterday. @AltafSario invited me to the launch and I went, from PECHS to Orangi, using 7 🚌 & a 🛺.
I was asked my advice for disabled people who face issues using transport. Now obviously the onus should be on Governments and transport companies to remove barriers (rather than on disabled people to campaign for it!) but I would say to join @TransportForAll, for the solidarity.

We have constituted a team of volunteers that will start relief efforts in Sujawal city and hopefully to the entire district. In our initial phase, we will be distributing 500 ration bags to rain affectees in Sujawal. One ration bag with essential items costs us Rs 3000.
📢 Call For Donations 📢
#Sujawal district is located in the lower-southern region of Sindh. The incessant heavy rainfall along with the overflowing river Indus and the intruding Arabian sea has left thousands homeless and starving. The situation here is worst than 2010 floods
This is the only way. Karachi cannot function with the current fractured jurisdictions. Provincial and Federal Govt jurisdictions have to be taken away and given to the Local Govt.
