Hi, I hope you’re well. I come to you with a heavy heart. Please hide my profile because I fear victimisation and losing my job.
I am a Zimbabwean working in Hwange, Matabeleland North, at a Chinese-owned company called Zhongjin Heli Energy.
The situation here is very bad. The company does not provide proper toilets at the plant or even at the workers’ living quarters. There is no clean drinking water, no proper bathrooms, and hygiene practices are extremely poor. Some workers do not even have job contracts, and many do not have proper PPE for protection.
What hurts us the most is that the Chinese workers have purified drinking water, clean toilets, and proper bathrooms only for themselves, but local employees are not allowed access to those places. Isu tinosiiwa tichitambura while they take care of themselves only.
There are so many Chinese workers here, almost equal to the number of local employees. In the offices, it is mostly Chinese staff. There is only one local person working as an HR assistant, while the rest are Chinese nationals.
In terms of safety, it is zero, zero. There are no proper safety practices at all. We are surviving only by the grace of God. Vanongofunga zvavo chete, not the workers. Accidents can happen anytime because there is no proper safety system being followed.
Another serious issue is that false information is allegedly being submitted to immigration authorities. For example, someone may be registered as an electrical engineer when in reality he is a plumber, or someone who simply learned the job on site. Meanwhile, there are qualified Zimbabweans who can properly do those jobs but are overlooked and not employed.
Some of the Chinese workers have residence or immigration permits showing positions they do not even know how to perform. Many of them learn the job here and later become supervisors or hold high positions without any related qualifications, while qualified locals remain sidelined.
Tiri kungoshanda semhuka and management does not seem to care about workers’ welfare, dignity, or fairness.
Please keep my identity anonymous. Ndiri kukumbira rubatsiro because things are getting out of hand here.

As schools were bieng opened this term, God heard my prayers. Two kids with albinism whom when l thought of would give me sleepless nights due to their situations.
Casper a young boy who was staying with his grandmother in the deep valley between Howmine and Esigodini travelling almost 11km to school on foot eduring the sun and sometimes missing school nursing burns but with so much potential academically. Then we have Waitawatebula a 13 year old skin cancer survivor from mountains away in deep Binga whose life was a very high risk due to extreme weather conditions in Binga where she walked 13km to school also missing school due to the extreme heatwaves.
🎉👏 Thankfully to the supporters like @c23_mary they have touched lives of these two children and many others from this platform. The two have been admitted at BPM Training Institute, in Bulawayo to continue school. The college is footing the school fees bill and boarding expenses. From the $170 which was raised here are the expenses paid.

So, I shared this video of iShowSpeed telling a young Zimbabwean lady with natural hair that she is beautiful. I shared it with Dr Solomon Guramatunhu, who is Zimbabwe’s leading eye surgeon and has been a proponent of natural hair for years, educating both men and women about the dangers of using human hair bought from different countries.
I do not know who this young woman is, but Dr Guramatunhu asked me to pass on a message. As long as he is still practising as an eye surgeon in Zimbabwe, this young lady will have free access to medical eye-care and consultations at his practice.
His practice will also pay for her spectacles if she ever needs them, and will cover all her eye care.
This is his way of showing appreciation for her choice to wear natural hair, something that was noticed by iSpeed when he acknowledged her beauty.
