We had to spend the night in the airport and we had less than two hours sleep. We were automatically rebooked to the Barcelona flight this evening.

But it turns out that the Barcelona flight from Chicago is now 4 hours late. We don’t know whether we are gonna fly or not. And all because @united has insufficient staff to move their planes around in the airport.

I’m not flying with @united EVER AGAIN! Last night my flight from Seattle was delayed so I missed my connection from Chicago to BCN. They left us to our own devices at O’Hare at 11pm & gave us a measly 10% discount on a hotel room that we couldn’t book bc everything was sold out.

On this day 84 years ago, the Soviet Union invaded Finland. Four days prior, they had conducted a false flag attack against their own troops in the town of Mainila, blaming Finnish forces for the shelling. The invasion marked the beginning of the Winter War.

Stalin planned the war to be over in 12 days, but despite superior military strength, especially in tanks and aircraft, the Soviets suffered heavy losses and made barely any headway.

Back then, no country came to help Finland, and we finally ceded around 10% of our territory to Stalin. We can't do this same mistake with Ukraine - the West must send all humanitarian and military aid they need to repel the Kremlin's forces.
