Hello @JeffBezos, since you question the results of our studies on the unfairness of the US tax system, please allow me to remind you of the main conclusions of our work, the most comprehensive research to date on this issue.
@TPCarney I strongly commend Haig-Simons to you. I'm not aware of much dispute about it.
Also, avg people already pay a wealth tax. It's called a property tax, and it's administered locally, not federally.
The facts:
-Bezos paid $0 fed'l income tax in 2007
-He paid $0 in '11
-Btn '14-19, his wealth grew by $99 BILLION and he paid $973 million in taxes.
Sounds like a lot but it's 0.98% of his wealth growth (which is his true income).
"People sometimes say that I don't pay taxes. It's not true. I paid billions of dollars in taxes," says @JeffBezos. "That's not going to solve the problem. You could double the taxes I pay and it's not going to help that teacher in Queens."
@TPCarney We didn't make this up. This is orthodox Haig-Simons, economic consensus on what income is since the 1920s. Yes, it went up or down in your e.g.'s.
The wealth-gain tax proposals would be progressive, and only attach at very high wealth/income.
BLANCHE: "The United States...is hereby FOREVER BARRED and PRECLUDED from prosecuting or pursuing...examinations or similar or related reviews" against Trump "or related or affiliated individuals," including family members or related companies and trusts.

Amazon told employees to do their price fixing via phone: "an Amazon vendor manager told a vendor that pricing strategy and improving Amazon profitability was 'a delicate conversation for numerous reasons an probably best suited for a phone call/virtual meeting.'" Exchanges like these show price fixing was widespread and that Amazon knowingly and systematically violated the law.
