@rahttled_doc@ACRRM I am SO EXCITED to be starting ACCRM after 14 months of ED. Am now in Townsville doing Pain job and it's not accredited but SO interesting and important :)
@Burnt2020@ExplosiveEnema2@valhumphreys51@dave_dlt I have worked a year in ED as an SHO (graduated 2020) and I would NEVER discharge a medically complex post partum patient without running it briefly by a senior. NEVER. This is horrifying
SO EXCITED to be moving to Townsville to serve the community as a Pain Management doctor. :D You and your pain are valid and important and I will do all in my power to learn, listen, and help you.
@AriReddy FY2: 80% LTFT
6/12 geris ...no out of hours (they didn't have the money...)
6/12 inpatient psych (long term pts, if ill transferred to hosp)
4/12 Paediatrics (TY Crosshouse for being the only good placement in 3 years)
Did this prepare me for acute medicine? Not. At. All.
@juliaisobela is right! 50mg sertraline + 70mg Vyvanse (Lisdexamphetamine) daily here.
How can I ask my patients to overcome their shame if I hold my own? I can't
Fortunately, I have no shame.
What do you do? My best.
Today I went to clozapine clinic for my monthly bloods + picking up my meds
Clozapine has been instrumental in keeping me mentally well & Iβm not ashamed to have to take daily meds for my mental health, even as a doctor myself
*nobody* should be ashamed for taking MH meds
I've got an interview for ACCRM!!! It's... 2 hours long :o ! Any insights? Prep? I can't possibly express how badly I want this!
I'm hopeless and awkward and desperate for #ACCRM
@AriReddy Amen.. I'm in Australia now as an SHO studied in Edinburgh. FY in Glasgow. After 3 years I sometimes feel I have the same skills as an Australian intern... And I'm now almost 5 years post exams so forgetting the knowledge after years of service not using it. #byebyenhs
@LittlePersonDoc@EMManchester EVERY ONE?! wow... I would sacrifice a goat... As a dyslexic w/ terrible short working memory I begged for a laptop because once I find a computer & login even with my notes I forget things...and of COURSE you can't edit the typed notes...and it'll be deleted if you turn around!
@LittlePersonDoc@EMManchester You can do that if you have your own laptop but if while dept shares 7 computers in the pod... That doesn't work. You're going back and forth, either writing the typing..or missing things if relying only on memory of each history and exam
@kcisc I wasn't doing that independently as an FY2 ... Dodgy. AF. Also...why would a physio WANT to sutures and assess head injuries? That's...not their job. Like why would a hairdresser wanna be a manicurist just cause they notice nails?
