Odisha on its way to become a leading Fintech & GCC Hub.
✅ Students from First cohort of 5-month GFTN program placed with good jobs and salaries
✅ Global Fintech Companies keen on setting up offices in Bhubaneswar
✅ Black Swan Summit bringing Odisha in the global limelight
#WATCH | Bhubaneswar, Odisha | Additional Chief Secretary Electronics and Information Technology Vishal Kumar Dev says, "We had signed an MOU with the Global Finance and Technology Network of the Monetary Authority of Singapore last year during the visit of the President of Singapore to Bhubaneswar. There were three objectives back then... The first cohort of about 300 students - normal BCom BSc students - graduated after the 5-month program. A hundred of them have already got placed with good jobs, good salaries..."
He also says, "A few proposals we have shown them spaces and companies... are all keen on coming and setting up offices there, so that work is also on track and the third was to bring Bhubaneswar in the limelight as far as the fintech world is concerned..."

Singapore-based global FinTech platform @gftn_official, already a key partner in Odisha’s innovation journey, has now inaugurated its India operations office in Bhubaneswar
VIDEO | As Singapore-based Global Finance and Technology Network inaugurates its first office in India in Bhubaneswar, Odisha IT Secretary Vishal Dev says, "You see, GFTN, this program when we started it, it started off as a dream of establishing a major Fintech hub in Bhubaneswar. And in terms of the timelines if you see, the MoU was signed during the visit of Honorable President of Singapore in January last year. And in less than one year, we had launched the program. Students were selected and you know, it's a matter of delight that out of the 300 students, more than 100 have got placed, and about 25 have got the opportunity to visit Japan and Singapore for internships. And these are all normal commerce science graduates. So there are four or five companies also which are almost in final stages of discussions with regard to setting up their GCCs here in Bhubaneswar. So if you look at the MOUs, what were the targets? The idea was to create a pool of talent. People who are trained and skilled in Fintech. We've been able to do that with the first batch. There is some tweaking which is being done, you know, considering the experience that we had. The second batch has already begun. The first batch has seen outstanding success in terms of jobs and in terms of internship opportunities. The second objective of getting companies here has also been fulfilled. The third of starting a global event like Black Swan Summit, which was a huge success last time, that has been done. We will be improving upon that next year. So I think all the objectives that we had set out for the GFTN program have been fulfilled or are very close to getting fulfilled..."
