BREAKING: TOTAL VICTORY! The Trump administration drops its subpoenas against three New York Times reporters after a judge slammed the Justice Department for its sloppy, embarrassing legal work.

This is a massive win for the First Amendment...

“The government is prepared to unilaterally withdraw the subpoenas at this time,” said Sean Buckley, a top-ranking official in the Manhattan U.S. attorney’s office.

He was forced to wave the white flag after his case completely collapsed in court. According to reporting from the Times itself, the surrender came after the judge "grilled Justice Department lawyers for nearly an hour" over their obvious mishandling of the subpoenas.

“Subpoenas are the last step, not the first step, but the last step,” said U.S. District Court Judge Arun Subramanian, who AP News described as "visibly irritated."

The subpoenas in question were a blatant attempt to chill free speech and punish perceived enemies of the White House. They were designed to compel the journalists to testify before a grand jury about confidential sources they used for a story on the security-compromised jet that Trump accepted from Qatar to use as Air Force One. According to the Times, Trump was "enraged" by the coverage.

Judge Subramanian warned Buckley that he would move to quash the subpoenas himself at the request of the Times if they were not withdrawn.

“Why isn’t that the right outcome?” asked Subramanian.

Rather than suffer such a humiliation, the Trump administration caved and withdrew them.

Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press on Trump Admin withdrawing subpoenas of New York Times journalists:

“Targeting reporters to appease the White House has reached a dead end once again in the federal courts. Judge Subramanian saw DOJ’s effort clearly for what it was: a brazen and careless government overreach," stated the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press.

Despite what Republicans want us to believe, our constitutional rights are stronger than this would-be fascist dictator. This is what happens when we fight back!

Gracias por haber llevado la camiseta argentina con un honor que excede cualquier resultado deportivo. Durante estos años, bajo el liderazgo de Lionel Scaloni, nos recordaron que un equipo puede ganar títulos, pero solo deja una huella profunda cuando vive de acuerdo con valores. Ustedes hicieron de la resiliencia una forma de caminar, del coraje una actitud frente a la adversidad, de la humildad una marca de identidad y del espíritu de equipo una demostración de que nadie llega lejos solo.

Hace cinco años recibí el diagnóstico de ELA. Desde entonces aprendí que las batallas más importantes no siempre se ganan. Algunas simplemente se libran con dignidad. Descubrí que el verdadero liderazgo no consiste en evitar el sufrimiento, sino en elegir quién queremos ser mientras lo atravesamos. Eso es lo que ustedes le regalaron a la Argentina durante este ciclo.

En mi próximo libro, Liderazgo Espiritual, sostengo que un líder no es quien acumula poder, sino quien despierta lo mejor de los demás. Y eso fue exactamente lo que hicieron. Millones de argentinos volvimos a creer que el esfuerzo compartido vale la pena, que el talento necesita del servicio y que la grandeza nunca puede sostenerse sin humildad.

Quiero dedicarle unas palabras a Lionel Messi.
Leo, durante muchos años el mundo habló de tus goles. Yo creo que tu mayor obra fue otra. Elegiste responder a la crítica con silencio, a la frustración con perseverancia y al éxito con una humildad que conmovió incluso a quienes no aman el fútbol. Nos enseñaste que la serenidad también es una forma de coraje y que un líder no necesita imponerse cuando su ejemplo habla todos los días. Hiciste mejor a quienes te rodeaban y esa es, quizás, la definición más hermosa del liderazgo.

Sé que estas horas pueden estar llenas de tristeza. Es lógico. Cuando uno entrega el alma, una final perdida duele. Pero el tiempo tiene una virtud extraordinaria: pone cada cosa en su verdadera dimensión.

Dentro de algunos años, cuando miren hacia atrás, descubrirán que el legado más importante que dejaron no fue una copa más o una menos. Será haber inspirado a millones de chicos y chicas que hoy vuelven a soñar. Chicos que aprendieron que el talento sin trabajo no alcanza, que el éxito sin humildad es vacío y que caer nunca es el final cuando existe un equipo dispuesto a volver a levantarse.

Los pueblos también necesitan ejemplos. En tiempos donde tantas veces se premia el individualismo, el agravio y la búsqueda del beneficio personal, ustedes eligieron otro camino. Eligieron confiar unos en otros, compartir el protagonismo, celebrar al compañero y poner siempre a la Argentina por delante de cada nombre propio.

Ese ejemplo vale mucho más que cualquier trofeo.

Gracias por haber defendido a nuestro país con el corazón. Gracias por recordarnos que el verdadero triunfo no siempre se mide en un marcador, sino en la capacidad de despertar esperanza en los demás.

Y de esperanza, créanme, sé un poco.

BREAKING: Doug Ford FIRES BACK at Trump’s Canada tariffs by cutting U.S. companies out of Ontario contracts — and ripping up its Starlink deal.

A petulant Donald Trump wants a trade war with Canada. Now, Ontario Premier Doug Ford just showed him exactly what that actually costs.

Responding to Trump's new 50% tariffs on Canadian goods, Ford announced Ontario is banning all U.S.-based companies from participating in the province's government procurement contracts, effective immediately.

This isn't small change: Ontario and its agencies spend approximately $30 billion annually on procurement, layered on top of a massive $200 billion infrastructure plan. American businesses just lost access to tens of billions of dollars in potential revenue.

"They only have President Trump to blame," Ford said bluntly.

But Ford didn't stop there. In a move dripping with well-deserved symbolism, Ontario is completely tearing up its contract with Starlink — Elon Musk's satellite internet company. "It's done, it's gone," Ford declared.

The message is unmistakable: Ontario isn't interested in enriching companies tied to an administration actively waging economic war against Canadian workers and families.

"We won't award contracts to people who enable and encourage economic attacks on our province and our country," Ford said.

And Ford isn't going it alone. He's calling on all 444 municipalities across Ontario to adopt the same procurement ban, with cities like Brampton, led by Mayor Patrick Brown, already stepping up to join the fight.

This is shaping up as a coordinated, province-wide — and potentially nationwide — economic response, with Ford explicitly framing it as part of "Team Canada's" opening salvo against Trump's tariffs.

Let's be clear about what's happening here.

Trump picked this fight, hitting Canadian goods with punishing tariffs over shifting, often contradictory justifications, from wildfire smoke to retaliatory grievances over alcohol sales.

Ontario isn't backing down or begging for mercy. It's hitting back, strategically and forcefully, by cutting American companies out of tens of billions in Canadian taxpayer dollars.

Trump wanted Canada to come "running back," as he put it. Instead, he's getting a united, defiant response that's going to cost American businesses dearly.

And meanwhile, who is going to ultimately pay that 50% tariff on imported Canadian goods? American consumers, that’s who.

There goes Trump, driving up inflation once again

Poco después se confirmó que 10 de los 12 integrantes del equipo no tenían ninguna discapacidad y habían superado controles prácticamente inexistentes.

España tuvo que devolver la medalla y el escándalo terminó afectando a miles de atletas: las competencias para deportistas con discapacidad intelectual fueron excluidas de los Juegos Paralímpicos durante más de una década.

El engaño de unos pocos terminó perjudicando a quienes realmente debían estar allí.
