In this current day Nigeria of 2026 with the economy in total shambles, ₦80k/month income is not sufficient enough for a man to bank on to settle down in a marriage. A decent room and palour self-con alone would almost eat up his entire annual salary of ₦960k. How will he feed his family if his annual income isn't even sufficient to pay his annual rent? If his spouse conceives very quickly and kid(s) start coming in in less than one year of marriage, how will he cater for the child(ren)? Diapers and baby formula are quite expensive now.

Nigerian youth are in a deep mess and it's very worrying. I empathise with thousands of ladies who are almost going past their prime and without a hope of getting married any time soon just because the guys aren't ready yet due to economic and financial uncertainties they are dealing with. I empathise more with men who may most likely end up nurturing their kids until they are into their late 60s.
