Likewise, Buchanan and Andrew Johnson were not nearly as bad as people claim.
People rag on Buchanan for not stopping secession, but they forget that secession was not (and still isn’t) a clear cut constitutional question.
As for Andrew Johnson, the only negative I’ve ever heard against him was “he was too nice to the South” which seems like a rather dumb argument to me.
And people wonder why I pushed back on saying Trump is the “most conservative” or “greatest” president.
He did a lot of great things in term 1, but this term he’s been all over the place
This is true, but any reform is just kicking the problem a couple decades down the road.
The fact is Social Security was a horrible idea from the start, can’t be sustained indefinitely, and frankly needs to be gradually phased out.
Social Security needs reform, but neither party is willing to take the lead on doing so.
If we continue doing nothing, Social Security payouts will be cut automatically by 24% in 2032… That’s only two presidential elections away.

A fetus fits all scientific classifications of human life and has distinct DNA.
Which means your entire definition of personhood isn’t based on fact but on subjective personal valuation and how much you care. Which, frankly, means you don’t actually value life at all.
On Iran, though, I have to remind myself to keep the noise out and remember that Trump does engage in realpolitik and he is fully aware of Iran’s diabolical intentions. We don’t have all the information, especially as to what he’s thinking or planning. I believe this will be OK.
@Geiger_Capital The #1 attack against Netanyahu domestically right now is that he’s a Trump stooge… so saying that kind of makes it impossible for Netanyahu to oblige
Why am I not upset by Israel’s strikes when Trump said it could ruin negotiations?
Two reasons:
1) Israel isn’t the US and an agreement between us and Iran will never be binding to Israel unless Israel itself is involved
2) The US wouldn’t sit by and refuse to respond if we were hit domestically, so why do we expect any other nation to do so?
It amazes me that people who complain about Israel constant say “it’s an independent country that should take care of itself” always complain when Israel actually does take care of itself.
I’ve supported President Trump for years, and I will always continue to do so because I believe in him. But to be honest, I just don’t get it.
Why’s he so stubborn about making a deal with an Islamic terror regime that wants both Israel and America destroyed?
What am I missing?
Israel was attacked by Iran.
They are unilaterally responding to those strikes.
Not requesting American support.
There is literally nothing to be mad about.
Israel just bombed Iran, in direct defiance of Trump saying not to do it…
They do not want a deal.
Trump was pulled into this war and now he can’t get out. Took over his entire 2nd term.
