The best opportunity to get spare boards for these is to find one that has a completely destroyed tube or is otherwise unusable and unfixable. If anyone knows someone with an unfixable PVM or BVM who would like to donate their boards to a repairman please reach out.
@JayBeeFr82 That's great, I'm looking forward to both projects, as I've got MiSTers attached to both CRT and LCD TVs! I just picked up a couple guncons in anticipation (and to use with PS1 in the meantime).
@azeem@mediaczar I've been using both, and for my purposes Thrill of the Fight is a way better workout. It's fairly different, and tends to get me sweating in the first round. I typically will jump in a few times a day for ~5m, which works for my schedule, so I can do at a few rounds a time.
@kevinroose I've been using my Quest for workouts for the last couple months, but with a bit of a twist. I don't have a contiguous half hour or more, so I jump in for quick 5-10 minute sessions throughout the day. Works great with Thrill of the Fight, Fit XR, and others.
@alexrudnick I regularly play with friends who don't have a PC, and coordinating games and consoles that we can play together is pretty difficult (casual games). Remote Play Together and Stadia are great solutions for the casual/social experiences. If Parsec >> RPT, then I might try it out.
@alexrudnick Seems like netplay is great if both players are on something that can support running the full game. Parsec seems like Steam's Remote Play Together, which is great for when one person can host a PC game with friends. Stadia is nice if nobody can host a PC game (and convenience).
@pamasaur I like the idea, not sure about the name, but I am constantly pushing for folks to write readable code and stop trying to be too clever. I've seen a tendency for people to want to look really smart, and write code that's expressive or concise, but is hard to grok and maintain.
@MisterAddons I don't think so. You don't currently have much competition, and people are already committed at checkout. You could also say you need time for testing. When I ordered a Dreamcast Toro, they didn't even say that it was a pre-order. I like to be able to set expectations.
@sentientsixp And, to be clear, I like the discord, people try to help there. On the forms, I saw everyone but one person being helpful. Unfortunately, when that one person is the project owner, it has an outsized impact on the perception of the project.
@sentientsixp Nope, very happy with the current thing! Even have a second one on the way. Early on i had bad RAM, Zero helped me out and got it resolved, but the way it presented made it look like something was wrong with NES core.
@sentientsixp I saw similar behavior on Github. People reporting legitimate issues, and getting shut down. I eventually figured out my issues, but seeing that definitely left a bad taste.
@sentientsixp No, not discord. Early on when I was having issues and searching the artari forms, I would find threads that started to talk about my issue, and sorg would drop in and kill the conversation before getting to a resolution.
