@ninaturner Yes. 9th Circuit and Supreme Court ruled you can not remove the encampments if there is no housing available. If we don’t want the tent cities or homeless taking shelter on the trains, we need housing. Be it shelters with beds, motels, or apartments.

@Jahee7488 @ninaturner Depending on the state, tip earners are sometimes given sub-minimum wages. Some as low as $2-$3 /hr. The employer is supposed to make up the difference if the final wage is under minimum, but wage theft is the most kind of theft in the work place

@smonter42 @RashidaTlaib Still higher than motor collision which is normally the highest cause of death for this age group regardless of suicide/gang related activity. That in itself is pretty alarming. Increase in suicide/gang activity also seems like an issue we should be addressing if it is increasing

@ninaturner Better mass transit infrastructure, better alternative vehicle infrastructure (bikes, e-scooters, etc), and more mixed development will do more for the environment than any electric car.
