Microsoft Teams Voice-enabled channels will now NOT be retired.

Microsoft had intended to retire voice-enabled channels in June 2026, but based on customer feedback this will no longer happen. Update to message Center item MC932491.

Queues app remains the recommended native option for more advanced group calling scenarios, with Monitor Whisper Barge and Takeover coming March 2025

🚨Help your Microsoft Teams Direct Routing friends, colleagues and service providers not look bad and have an outage on September 5th! 🚨

🟣 On September 5th, Microsoft will perform a 24-hour test where all Direct Routing will switch to a new Certificate Authority (CA)

🟣 If your SBC doesn’t trust the new CA, you will have an outage.

🙏 Please share this, tell a friend, and if someone else looks after your Direct Routing, please ask them to confirm they have updated and tested

🟣 There is a test they can perform right now to confirm it's all working ahead of September 5th.
