The Library of Congress has selected Taylor Swift’s ‘1989’ to be added to the National Recording Registry for preservation.
The registry chooses recordings based on their “cultural, historical or aesthetic importance in the nation’s recorded sound heritage.”
Taylor Swift to NYT on ‘reputation’ being “slept on” when it came out:
“I loved the ‘reputation’ album. I was like, ‘You guys say what you want. I know what I did, I love it. Go with God. Sorry. You can come around if you want. It’s OK if you don’t.’ And then 6 or 7 years later, people are like, ‘Oh my God, like, ‘…Ready For It?’’ People slept on that song.”
Talking about songwriting > Talking about anything else. Thank you @joecoscarelli and @nytmag. I had the (NY) Time of my life 😎
