Let me get this straight.

You’ve been in power for ten years. You’ve doubled the debt. You’ve weakened the economy. And now, your answer is to trap young Canadians?

On stage, the Liberal Party of Canada brings out Patrick Pichette, a former senior executive at Google, who now lives in Europe, to suggest that Canadians who want to pursue opportunities in the United States should face an exit tax of $500,000.

Half a million dollars to leave your own country.

This, from someone who once left Canada himself to build a career in the U.S. and paid virtually nothing to do so.

So let’s be honest about what this is.

It is not economic policy. It is not nation building. It is control.

A government that has mismanaged the economy now wants to limit your ability to seek opportunity elsewhere. Instead of creating reasons to stay, they are looking for ways to make it harder to leave.

You do not grow a country by locking people in. You grow it by giving them a reason to believe in it.

If you voted Liberal for Trudeau or Carney, this ids what you voted for. The National Post used a report from the C.D.Howe Institute that said in part:

As Canada became overwhelmed with a surge of illegal border-crossers and asylum claimants in the years after 2017, the response of the Immigration and Refugee Board of Canada was to eliminate most of its screening protocols.

Security checks were abandoned, review processes were automated, and nearly 25,000 people were given refugee status without a single government employee having met them in person. At the precise moment that record numbers of foreign nationals were trying to secure Canadian residency via the asylum system, the federal government slashed all its usual controls to weed out fraudsters, human traffickers and terrorists.

25000 walked in to Canada without being interviewed or undergoing any type of screening.

Canadians should be outraged over this, but not Liberal voters.

If a criminal refugee claim is rejected as false, and the person ignores an order to leave Canada, we still pay their supplemental health coverage: vision, dental, pharma, physio etc.

These are benefits that law-abiding, tax-paying Canadians do not get!

In November, we exposed the Liberal government’s Interim Federal Health Program costing taxpayers $900 million a year. The Parliamentary Budget Officer has investigated, and now projects the cost to rise to $1.5 billion annually.

At a time when Canadians cannot find family doctors, and are waiting months to see specialists, this Liberal policy is completely bananas.
