STF participated in a 2-day consultative meeting held at Strikers Hotel in Moroto, reviewing the National NGO Policy (2010) & NGO Act CAP 109, organized by @HRC_Uganda and the National NGO Bureau under the Civic Space Improvement Project.
The meeting provided a platform for dialogue, reflection & shared learning among district stakeholders, NGO regulators, NGOs, and development partners on key issues affecting NGO work in Uganda.

Earlier today at Moroto Resort, Moroto District, the @STFUganda team attended the start of a 3-day Inception Workshop for Partner Grantees implementing projects to tackle child exploitation, in Karamoja region under the new @Freedom_Fund program.
This holiday program will engage bursary beneficiaries and other students in conducting community dialogues and theater productions, aimed at sensitizing and empowering parents and caregivers to protect children from exploitation.

We began our activities in Kabale district with a Focus Group Discussion with #ListenToUganda listeners, a meeting with talk show panelists, with the Asst. RDC Rukiga district, LCIII Chairman Central Division, Co-Founder of KICK corruption out of Kigezi, & woman activist Marion.
Executive Director RAC Angella Byangwa emphasized the need for continued collaboration between state & non-state actors in the fight against corruption and applauded Wizarts Foundation whose #ListenToUganda project approach fosters these relationships.

Our next stop was Kabarole-Fortportal City, where we met our partner CSO, Rwenzori Anti-Corruption Coalition. ED Mrs. Angella Byangwa, shared insights on the rollout & use of the Contract Monitoring System (CMS) by @PPDAUganda in the Sub-region & how contract monitors embrace it.
#ExposeTheCorrupt: After engaging with Kabale listeners & leaders, we interviewed Mr. Birigayomwe , Asst. RDC. He praised @Wiz_Foundation's impact in fighting corruption & improving service delivery thru LTU Dramas, commending our efforts on the discussion segments & talk shows.
In Mubende District, The Mayor of East Division Mubende District H.W Samuel Mayanja an ardent panelist praised the LTU-Usalama dramas for empowering the ordinary citizens in holding their leaders accountable.

In July, our team conducted a two weeks Field Monitoring visit for the #ListentoUgandaproject to assess the extent to which the project 2023/24 achieved on its objectives. 7 districts were visited; Kabale, Kabarole, Mubende, Jinja, Soroti, Moroto, & Lira.
