Thank you @CASE_Leaders for being a light to help guide us even when the skies in education get a little stormy. Great sessions today at the #CASEConvention.
Thinking about these 7 principles from an HBR article shared by Dr Lori Cooper at #CASEconvention this morning. Appreciate them and the sincerity with which they were shared.
Interesting concept from today’s #PPBEA session at the #ECOCConference. I feel that I’m happy within Ikigai (am I using that term correctly?) for me. How can I help students discover their own?
Thinking hard about two quotes from @csingleton__2’s keynote. Taking them with me into work next weekl: “Everybody has a story behind their stance” and “One life is not important except in the impact it has on others.”
Looking forward to a great day of learning at the #ECOCConference . Thank you @csingleton__2 for being the first keynote speaker I’ve ever learned with who started us with hugs! I’m newly committed to telling ALL my students how much I love them (cause I do!).
Thanks to @CASE_Leaders and @DocJ4schools for a thought-provoking keynote this morning at the inaugural CASE Principals’ Conference. I appreciate you putting this together for us.
@JonGordon11@bauman_k So true! Today, I GET TO share the amazing news that my school is hiring. Our organization now GETS TO be a blessing to more people. The intent to share joy & abundance with the world is something I want to keep in the forefront in SY 22-23. Thanks for modeling that!
I'm so blessed to work at AAHS. Our staff is has such a love for children, collaboration, & craftsmanship. We have a handful of positions still available for 22-23 & I hope we can be a blessing to just a few new teammates. Check postings out today at https://t.co/iyafqEdiUU.
@TheophaC Aw, thanks, but it’s not as artsy as you might thing. If you ever want me to show you, I’ll screencast the process I use. I just have a terrible memory and think in pictures so do this so I can remember what I might otherwise not. :)
@AmyYarick So agree. That really hit me in both the feels and the intellect. I’m thinking that answer comes from a combo of what we do and the opportunities students engage in. Are they learning, in our classes, the types of skills they value enough seek out voluntarily? @burgessdave
@mcleod@TOSSEAFRICA@burgessdave@InnEdCO I think there’s a healthy balance to be found. Hopefully, we balance the passion to bring our A-game every day (whatever that looks like for us) while ever reflecting on how to design lessons for more and more student agency and meaningful, authentic work.
Great reminder from @burgessdave that the time and effort we put into being intentional in our instructional design is worth it. We ARE in the life-changing business.
@CalebPahl@burgessdave Buenas, Caleb. Thanks for the reply. Glad my small sketch seems to be helping folks anchor their thoughts. Que tengas un buen fin de semana.
@TOSSEAFRICA@burgessdave I’d agree with that. Today, I am pondering how to mix that innovation and student agency thinking from the 4 Shifts Protocol from @mcleod with the energy and the passion for teacher craftsmanship from @burgessdave.
@sarahmcinerny @burgessdave Aw, thanks Sarah. I use the Paper app by @WeTransfer on an old iPad. I pay a little for it because I use it a fair amount, but you could use the free version for sure.
