Self-care IS ALSO: addressing your own problematic thoughts & behaviors; removing toxic (not just challenging) people/situations from your life; holding yourself accountable for what you do & say (and apologizing authentically); doing your own self-work to be emotionally literate
This is a @KafuiDey appreciation post.
I know I’ve told you this many times, both in person and online, but it’s worth saying again.
At a time when so much of the media landscape is driven by sensationalism, the race to trend, and a growing disregard for journalistic ethics and basic decency, I’m grateful there are people like you who continue to do the work the right way.
You have a rare gift for making your guests feel safe, heard, and comfortable enough to share their stories honestly. That’s not something many interviewers have mastered, and it’s a big part of why your conversations resonate.
Thank you for choosing substance over spectacle, curiosity over clickbait, and integrity over noise. We need more journalists and interviewers like you.
