"The window to prevent catastrophe is closing fast. Breaking the cycle of hunger and poverty is possible - but only if the international community acts today."

At a time when needs are at their highest, @WFP is forced to drastically scale back. This month, we can only reach 1 in 10 people with life-saving food assistance.
Every day without support pushes families closer to catastrophe.
Honoured to be received by H.E. Minister @AbdisalamDhaay at @MOFASomalia to discuss strengthening cooperation in humanitarian response, food security, & sustainable development.
@WFP is committed to achieving the goal of #ZeroHunger in #Somalia, in line with national priorities.
FM @AbdisalamDhaay received on Saturday, at his office in the Ministry, in the capital #Mogadishu, Mr. Elkhidir Daloum, the #WFP Representative and Country Director. The meeting focused on enhancing cooperation in alignment with #Somalia’s national priorities.

Somali Health Minister @DrAliHajiadam launched a new nutrition project for drought-affected mothers & children. Funded by KSRelief, and implemented by WFP. MoH appreciates the continued partnership with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and WFP in strengthening life-saving services.
Honoured to have @MoH_Somalia Minister H.E. @DrAliHajiadam, @KSRelief_EN Deputy Dir. Abdallah Saud Alsuqayran & CD @EKDaloum commemorate the launch of KSrelief-funded “Prevention of acute malnutrition in drought-affected regions of Somalia” project to support mothers & children.
🚨Somalia’s humanitarian needs remain high, but @WFP's capacity to respond is shrinking.
In November, only 350,000 people will receive food assistance. That’s less than 1 in 10 of those who need food to survive.
In just weeks, @WFP will be forced to suspend life-saving nutrition support for hundreds of thousands of mothers and children in #Somalia.
Urgent funding is needed as 1.85 million children face acute malnutrition and 4.4 million people confront worsening hunger.
Back home to Sudan 21st October 1964, 6th April 2006 and 11th April 2019 remains dates of significant importance in Sudanese history after independence Day on 1st January 1956. Sadly, our thirst for peace, justice & equity is still a long way to go The senseless war must stop now
🚨 Millions in #Somalia face worsening hunger as @WFP will be forced to cut emergency food assistance by over two-thirds due to funding shortfalls.
In November, less than 1 in 10 people in need will receive support. Urgent funding is needed to save lives.
