GENERALIZED CONSIDERATIONS – with a cry.
The public perception of Christianity, even four decades ago, was beautifully different from what it is today. Jesus had more honour on our streets then than He does now. It meant something to non-Christians to hear that someone was a Christian in those days, because Christians, based on whatever the church was teaching at the time – were better representatives of Jesus in and to the world than we are today.
In those days, people could safely assume that if Laoye was a Christian, your teenage daughter would be safe around him, your money would be safe in his custody, and he would not sell you a fake product. Such assumptions, even about believers, are unsafe these days, generally speaking. (I know there are brilliant exceptions here and there, but they are the exceptions now, not the norm.) This is why I believe we should humbly admit that whatever we are teaching today is not altogether as spiritually transformative as it ought to be, in the overall divine scale of things.
Yet it was our Lord who said:
“…let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
No candle was meant to be lit only to be placed under a cover. Salt should not continue to claim to be salt when it has lost its edge, its savour. Christianity, by design, is meant to be definitive and consequential, not banal and conformist.
Jesus, please, we need a revival!
I go de quote bible, you go de throw tantrum in the name of logic say one thing na christology wey be soteriology.
Make I use una illogic sef. So, tell me, why una de vex say we de call Christians to purity, Christians o? If grace plenty for your side, why you no wan show receipts? Holy living na one sure proof of grace (Titus 2:11,12), but, once we say make you no de practice sin, especially sexual immorality, and especially if you wan be pulpit minister, una go de vex.
If no be fake grace wey una de advertise, why una no like make we shout about holiness sef? Grace wey de allergic to righteous living na the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be dat?
Romans 5:20: For where sin abounds, grace abounds much more...
The more you sin, the more grace you receive❌
The power of grace is stronger than the power of sin.✅
That Rev Gideon’s message at IEC yesterday, play it on repeat a thousand times.
Anytime you want to argue with either a full blown cessationist or a quasi charismatic, listen to the sermon first.

Let the prophets speak.
Let all prophesy.
A man can build a powerful prayer life
and still live a weak Christian life.
For prayer can be intense while the character remains untouched.
But when a man is truly taught, the Word begins to shape his desires, correct his thinking, and align his life with God.
That is how a Christian is formed.

If nobody will make heaven if they sinned after being saved then it means we're not saved by God's grace.
This doesn't also mean you will definitely make heaven if you keep sinning after being saved.
We're saved by grace but this grace is not to be held in lasciviousness.
An example from scripture is Peter.
Peter was saved, but he denied Jesus not once but three times in one night.
It was Jesus who was still stretching out his hand to Peter.
Unlike previously when Peter beginning to sink did the calling out, this time it was Jesus who called out to Peter.
"Tell my disciples, and Peter...".
That is God's grace. That's what saved and saves us.
We didn't just need grace to be saved in the past, we need it so that we will be saved in the future, at the end when all is done, no one will enter heaven and say I came here because I did no sin.
No one.
Marriage involves LEAVING and CLEAVING.
God never intends to put you in a position where you have to choose between your spouse and a Church to attend. But if you find yourself in that position, ten out of ten times you should choose your spouse.
My husband’s friend’s marriage ended just 3 months after the wedding… because they couldn’t agree on attending the same church.
The husband wanted his wife to join his church after marriage.
The wife refused. She was deeply committed to her church and served as a Children’s Department Coordinator. According to her, she had built a strong bond with the kids and couldn’t walk away from them.
The husband suggested she could continue serving in the same department in his church, maybe even grow more there. She declined.
He also expressed concern about being under different doctrines and how it could affect their unity. She still refused.
What started as disagreement turned into protest.
She stopped cooking.
She denied him intimacy.
Both reported each other to their respective pastors.
Family members and church leaders tried to mediate.
Her pastor insisted she stay.
His pastor emphasized unity in marriage and encouraged her to join her husband.
No compromise.
No resolution.
Three months later, the marriage ended.
Personally, I feel conversations like this should be settled during the talking stage. But sometimes, people will do what they want to do anyway.
May we not marry the wrong partner🙏
Let the Minister fear speaking loosely in sacred matters.
For every careless word spoken in the Name of GOD becomes a burden placed upon the souls of men.
The more your circle expands as a young minister, the less lamentation you can publicly express about whatever anomaly exists within God's people.
Every time you attempt to address issues that may bring correction to existing atrocities, you will have to consider whether someone close to you might feel offended by it.
Before you know it, you will have nothing heavenly to say anymore aside from celebrating everyone's grace and affirming everyone's foolishness.
You'll shift sharply from being a Man of God to a clown for the people.
If you keep hunting for ministry friends to "strategically position you for greatness" you will lose your soul, lose your convictions, lose your cutting edge, and lose your usefulness to God just to gain the validation of "Old Prophets"
SECRET SERVICE
When the Lord told Elijah "I have 7,000 who have not bowed the knee to Baal..." He was neither applauding nor recommending their secret service. He was correcting the prophet's incorrect assessment of the terrain. But, you know, the prophet, in such a day of contention would have benefited from the fellowship of kindred spirit if some of the 7,000 Faithfuls were not Fearfuls. Mortal-Elijah simply worked with the detail available to him, and God came to set the record straight. That was it.
Being a secret disciple may be expedient for a season, as a tentative gait, perhaps, while the disciple matures, but, it is not a standard posture for believers. Like, it is not a sin to crawl, especially as a baby, but crawling is not our destiny, as humans.
Moses the son of Amram was not hidden forever. Joseph of Arimathea was not a permanent 'secret disciple'.
Saint, grow up. And when you come of age, you should become a stage, a stage showcasing Jesus, if indeed He is your Lord.
KEY DISTINCTIONS
The groanings of Rom 8:26 are WORDLESS, not SOUNDLESS.
Those groanings are 'done' by the Holy Spirit through the believer in prayer, yes, through both those of us who speak in tongues & those of us who don't.
Groanings are groanings. They're not 'tongues'
READING
The thrill, the beauty of 'reading between the lines' is singularly the privilege of those who have done the boring job of learning the lines, and I mean the hard, unyielding lines. For, without mastery of the lines, there is no 'between' to read.
Someone recently was honest enough to publicly say he cannot follow a poor pastor,
I honestly think he is better than many of us who won't say anything close but also live by similar mantras.
Church folks who don't say it but honour popular preachers they don't know, while despising the familiar pastor who consistently labours over them.
Preachers who do not say it but pay more attention to the rich and affluent and despise the poor in their congregation.
Christians who won't say it but cannot worship in a church where they cannot socially connect with high-class members of society for strategic positioning.
Church leaders who will not say it but cannot begin a church until they can afford all the flashy and expensive aesthetics and gadgets of "modern churches" that appeal to the influential in society.
Christians who will not say it but will often ignore the truth as long as an unpopular saint said it, but will readily believe anything from the lips of successful sinners.
Preachers who "God has never led" to invite an "unknown" and "unappealing" minister to bless their assemblies, but whose conferences are full of anyone who manages to trend and has the capacity to pull the crowd.
We can go on and on but I think the point is clear.
The Man who honestly confessed his mantra is better than many of us who pretend to be different but consistently show that we serve, love, and esteem Mammon over Christ.
We all know what we are doing!
But at least someone is honest enough to be bold about his beliefs.
"The restorative agenda begins with dealing with sin.
There’s more to sin than consequences.
Sin is an affront to the rule of God; it is an aberration to the way God intended things to be.
There’s an ideal to the rule of God in your life." ~ Apostle Gideon Odoma

"God, first and foremost, wants to win human hearts before He wins lands.
We need to establish the spiritual kingdom first.
It is conquered hearts that conquer lands." ~ Apostle Gideon Odoma
