My position is: believe whatever you want.

I'll defend that right regardless of whether I agree with you or not as long as you don't do anything to infringe or impose on others.

The thing is, that's exaclty what religions do. Religions are systems of control which they achieve thorugh manipulation, deceits and lies.

That's what I oppose.

@greatgoyshiak @Know_More_News I think this is the problem of people who live with one foot in religion and the other in science; they want to believe but not seem "stupid" for opposing science.

Truly, believe whtever you want but don't try to force and distort science to "prove" it.

They employ things like: metaphors, allegory, midrash, "theological constructs" etc. whenever they don't want - or can't - take a text literally/true.

In the end, it's a game of convenience where truth doesn't really matter.

This is one of the manipulation tools religion uses. All credentials are "trash" if, as you said, you don't agree with them. It doesn't matter how many academic degrees, years, specializations, even if you are a Nobel Laureatte... it doesn't matter.

Now, if it's in agreement to their positions, they shameless use the "authority" of those credentials to give themselves credibility.
