Press Release: Statement by the El-Rufai Family. The family of Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, the former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), former Governor of Kaduna State and Opposition Leader of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has noted with serious concern the allegations made by General Christopher Musa (Rtd.), Minister of Defence, on 3 September 2026 during a live television broadcast of Politics Today on Channels Television. During the programme, General Musa alleged that Mallam Nasir El-Rufai actively planned killings in Southern Kaduna while serving as Governor of Kaduna State.

This grave allegation was made without the presentation of any evidence in support of the claim. While General Musa (Rtd.) is entitled to hold and express his personal opinions, the El-Rufai family is equally entitled to demand that such serious allegations be substantiated with credible evidence.

In the absence of such evidence, we call on him to publicly retract the allegation through the same medium on which it was made. Accordingly, General Musa (Rtd.) is hereby given seven (7) days from the date of this statement to either provide evidence in support of his allegation or issue a full public retraction and apology.

Failure to do so will leave the family with no option but to pursue all appropriate legal remedies available under the law in response to these unsubstantiated allegations.

Mallam Nasir El-Rufai said it plainly that government is paying bandits, giving them money and feeding the problem in the name of “non-kinetic.” He said it is not just a state thing but a national policy driven from the NSA’s office, and that as long as payments continue the killings will not stop.

Samaila Kaigama said something just as ugly on the Borno side: that a huge ransom was paid for abducted women and children from Ngoshe, and that the money that reached the other side did not match what was supposedly released. Government people denied it. He was later arrested.

Then we have CG Musa, first as CDS, now as Defence Minister, repeating the same line: “The Federal Government does not pay ransom.” Easy sentence but the honest question is that if El-Rufai is lying, table the proof. If Kaigama is lying, show the full paper trail of how those victims came out. If both men are just noise, why does banditry still look like a business?
You cannot keep saying “we don’t pay ransom” while communities keep saying money is moving, victims keep coming out after “engagement,” and insecurity keeps paying for itself. @elrufai clip is attached. Watch it. Then ask Musa to answer the clip, not to recycle the same denial.

Chukwuemeka is neither a Fulani man, nor is he a Muslim from the North.

He said the crisis of Southern Kaduna, is attacks and reprisal attacks and we all know how that started by the very person that is idolized now in SK, Zamani Lekwot, He was arrested, prosecuted and convicted for the crime in 1992, but was later pardoned.

These are some of the bodies of Muslims massacred by same people Christopher Musa referring to as "My people" the southern Kaduna Christians. The killings were orchestrated by a retired Major General, Zamani lekwot who happened to be a Southern Kaduna Christian, when he was exposed, sentenced to life, he was later pardoned. even before Nasir El-Rufai became governor of Kaduna thousands of atrocities were committed by Southern Kaduna Christians including waylaiding innocent Travellers just like what they are doing in Jos.

I still remember when he was CDS. Hundreds of Muslims were bombed in the name of mistakes under his watch, including the Maulud gathering in Kaduna State.

The same man told us on TV that Bello Turji reached out to him to surrender, just before he was sacked as CDS on 25th November 2025.

Now I think he’s trying to tell us those "mistakes killing of Muslims" were not mistakes at all. They were deliberate
