The death rate used to be like 1 in every 5 climbers, but of course, technology is growing, so the death rate has dropped to like 1 in every 10 climbers.
964 people have climbed K2 and of this, about 92 have died
K2 is the second tallest mountain in the world, but it's even more dangerous than the tallest mountain, which is Everest.
1. Unlike Everest, K2 has no flat surface. You have to keep on climbing on a steep rock to get to its peak
2. K2 is much colder than Everest and —

—has an extreme wind force.
3. Then there's this part called the bottleneck. It's an unstable section of the rock that can shift anytime without warning and is hardly survived if it does shift.
4. Then comes the peak. Oxygen deprivation, pulmonary and cerebral edema.

People are climbing it with supplemental oxygen, withoutmaking it back. So who are you, you must have agreed to meet death before trying it.
Infact let me tell you about K2.

Thinking about it now, Nimsdai probably climbed peaks with the same approach.
Imagine climbing K2 without oxygen. That's someone who has already accepted death as a highly likely outcome.
Being logical is probably one of the best ways to go through life. Not much will surprise you.
"I am doing so so so. Based on the likelihood of what has happened, I'd probably experience this"

He experienced a feeling a lot of people never will, saw landscapes a lot of people never will.
He didn't just exist. He lived.
I hope a lot of people see this and chase their dreams, whatever it may be.
Trash the fear, trash the idea of impossibility.
"impossible is a fallacy"
Read about Nimsdai. Long story short, he died in an avalanche last week while mountain climbing.
The dangers of mountain climbing are not the point here.
It's the fact that he achieved something that has never been done before-summited all the 14 mountains that are 8000m above
sea level within 6 months and 6 days.
Then he did it again without using supplemental oxygen -That's twice! 99% of people will never climb even one 8000m mountain throughout their existence, which is fine; because, I am an advocate for respecting safety.
