(3/2) OK, one more comment...SS7 & Diameter are not going away (these protocols have nothing to do with vendor X or Y or Z) and they are vector through which much monitoring/surveillance/spying takes place

(2/2) removing Huawei from a network would certainly mitigate many of the risks discussed in this article...but not all risks. The other dark secret of telecommunication networks is that even if Huawei is excluded, the networks will continue to pose systemic surveillance risks.
