I built a wearable that predicts behaviors like nail biting, hair pulling, and skin picking before they occur.
I spun up a sensor rig, tested it on myself, and achieved an AUC of 0.868 using simple, standard white-label wearable sensors.

Separately—working on this project also taught me a lot about life and myself: about spending 5 years treating a project as The Thing I'm Meant To Build, and what happens when you finally sit down to work on it.
I wrote about that here, if it's useful to anyone else with something stuck on The Pedestal: https://t.co/gFH6N6ASbk

This write-up covers sensing and prediction. Closed-loop stimulation is the next step in this project, but I’ll leave it open to anyone who wants to carry it forward:)

Launching the Alive Prize. $100K to build what makes you come alive.
I've been fixated on a quote from Howard Thurman lately: "Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive."
We want to help more people find that feeling.
