@srdawg3273 @BobbyMarks42 The over-38 rule would make the cap hit $30 million/yr instead of $15 million/yr if that player turns 38 (or maybe 39?) after the second year of the contract.

I don’t think any of that applies to LeBron because he’s already over 38. Just can’t sign more than three years.

The over-38 rule just prevents teams from “cheating” the cap by signing an older player to a longer contract (say, 4yrs, $60 million) when it’s likely that player will retire after two years (in essence a 2yr, $60 million contract).

@teoAI_ @NateDuncanNBA @DannyLeroux The other thing is that in 2018 there weren’t a lot of MVP-caliber players who came out of the EuroLeague. Giannis was ascending, but he played against school teachers in some tiny Greek league.
