I suppose by this stage everyone accepts that what’s happening in Gaza isn’t about targeting Hamas. I hate even the elisions that creep into how I discuss it; “what’s happening in Gaza” standing in for open and unpunished murder. The Iraq War was sold on propaganda about smart bombs and surgical strikes; now whole neighbourhoods are flattened and we talk about the Golden Globes. It’s depraved.
