$VOICEBOX AMA recap with @jamiepine.
Founder background.
Jamie's been a software engineer and founder for about a decade, streaming his open source work to grow his combined audience across X, Twitch, and GH to 48k.
Before Voicebox, he built Spacedrive to 38k GitHub stars and raised $2M from @OSSCapital, @naval and the founders of @Shopify, @github and @vercel.
Product.
Voicebox has become a viral local voice cloning app, reaching 35k GitHub stars and is a top weekly trending repo on GitHub.
This attention was driven by Reddit tutorials, YouTube videos, and the "ElevenLabs just lost its moat" reaction posts. Zero marketing spend. People discovered this repo on their own.
Market.
It's an open source alternative to ElevenLabs (~$11B company) on the voice cloning side, and a Wispr Flow alternative (~$25-50M revenue) for voice to text.
The LLM integration also enabled a personalities feature that turns raw agent output into something humanized for spoken voice over MCP, which opens up more use cases.
Token and Roadmap.
The token allowed Jamie to go full time right away. Jamie is clear there won't be other tokens he endorses or deploys. He self-deployed to build integrations, lock liquidity, and enable regular streams on @Pumpfun.
Mobile app is prototyped and shipping soon, covering both cloning and dictation. Backup and sync is also coming, with utility for token holders who won't pay a subscription for it.
Dev and comm velocity remains high. Jamie shows up each day to build and post. PRs are merging publicly and updates are landing on @VoiceboxAI.
