@ward069@rageinggranny@SpeakerMcCarthy It hasn’t because the spending has already been approved and spent. This is for bills we’ve already accrued. It’s fine after they pass this to sit down and figure out where cuts should come but you can’t negotiate on what you’ve already bought
@ward069@rageinggranny@SpeakerMcCarthy You know the debt ceiling has been raised a total of 78 times and has never been used as a negotiating tool until now?
@SpeakerMcCarthy I’m working 3 jobs to make it and I pay a higher tax rate than the top 1%. That’s your trillion dollar tax cuts so don’t act surprised like it’s democrats spending
@ltsisk@POTUS How about the other way around? Our country is 31 trillion in debt. Started in 1789 with Alexander Hamilton. Our current personal carried debt in the US is 21 trillion which really only started after World War II. Most people obviously aren’t living on a budget
@SpeakerMcCarthy It’s only been raised 78 times in the past. With 0 negotiations. Our economy and livelihood are not negotiating tools. You already agreed to the spending but now you are going to balk when the bill comes due? Do what’s right not what gives you power.
@ScenicCityVol @Vol_Hoops People need to remember there are two ways to go when you change good coaches. And most go down not up. Everyone wanted to get rid of Fulmer for the same reason and we were in the darkness for decades
@wesrucker247 We lost an all conference point guard and team leader and made it to the sweet 16. Yes it hurts but anyone who wants to fire Barnes needs to do a in depth study of Tennessee basketball tournament history.
@Danielwolford22 @PatrickDDodson@benmckee14 Great point and I would add that we didn’t have James either. It’s impressive to me what we have done without him. I can’t wait until he gets back healthy
@Politco2@helpless_vol If you’re a true vol fan you should know from the Fulmer era that once you take your foot off the gas it’s not a given to flip that switch back on when you need it. Playing smart football to win is not the same as taking your foot off the gas.
