Our theme this year is humility. Humility begins when we abide in Jesus.
We pray that our students, staff, and families will reflect Christ by serving others with kindness, putting others first, and walking in humility each day.
Welcome Gus Felder as ELCA’s new Athletic Director!
Coach Felder brings experience from Nebraska, Georgia Tech, Miami, Georgia, and the Carolina Panthers. We're excited to see how God will use him to strengthen our athletic program and invest in our student-athletes.
Today, we celebrate the end of slavery in America, honor the strength & resilience of the Black community, and give thanks for those who paved the way to freedom. May we continue to value the dignity of every person striving to build a community rooted in respect, unity, & hope.
We believe every individual is wonderfully made in the image of God. Today, we celebrate the end of slavery in America, honor the strength of the Black community, and give thanks for the pioneers who paved the way.
Congratulations to our Class of 2026 Valedictorian and Salutatorian!
Through perseverance, commitment, and a passion for excellence, these students have earned the highest academic honor our school can bestow. We are proud to announce that both will be attending @GeorgiaTech.
Introducing Fred Odom, ELCA Class of 2011, who will be this year’s commencement speaker.
Fred graduated from UNG Dahlonega with a degree in Marketing and now works at @ChickfilA. We can’t wait to hear more from him at graduation on May 15!
Just when I thought Friday's glorious Investiture Day for The 15th President of Savannah State couldn't get any better, it actually did.
After the ceremony, I ran into this awesome group of Middle School students from Eagle's Landing Christian Academy in McDonough, GA. They are part of the Young Men of Distinction mentoring group.
The young men were here for a campus tour and had just sat-in on a softball game; even still they wanted to see and learn more about going to college.
To a person, they are smart, curious, and already looking ahead to the future.
It occurred to me while hanging out with them, that this is, in part, why the investiture matters.
Under Dr. Whirl's leadership and following The UpRoar plan, the work we are all doing now is fortifying #SSU to be a relevant place of learning for these students who will be part of the Class of 2035. #SSU #investiture #collegematters #buildingforthefuture #theUpRoar #collegevisit #mentoring #Proverbs22:6 #smart #gifted #bright #classof2035

As @Braves season begins, we’re looking back on an unforgettable day at Truist Park for our MOVE (Men of Vision and Excellence) event! It was an incredible opportunity with leadership coaching, team building, encouragement, and a behind-the-scenes tour of the ballpark.

During this week, we will focus on what it means to follow Christ through servanthood.
From scripture reading during announcements to handwritten notes of encouragement to our community, it’s a meaningful week of learning that serving others is a powerful way to reflect Christ.
ELCA is proud to announce our 3 candidates for the U.S. Presidential Scholar Program: Jethro Jones, Rush Phelps, and Kaitlyn Anderson.
Congratulations to these 3 seniors!
We are proud to announce this year’s STAR student, Asad McFarland and STAR teacher, Beth Burer! Both will attend the county-wide Student Teacher Achievement Recognition (STAR) Program at the Fairview Performing Arts Center on Friday, February 13.
