The Knights of Columbus St. Patrick Council #1747 presented Coach Drew Lammers and the Elder Golf

Team with a check in the amount of $500.00 in remembrance of the late Deacon Bill Brunsman, Elder Class of ’54.

Bill’s son, Greg (pictured in a yellow shirt), joined with fellow members of the St. Patrick Council to present the check and speak to the team.

Willkommen bei Elder!

Today, Elder High School welcomed Manuel Pretzl and Armin Gastl, both city council members from Munich, Germany, along with alumnus Adam Jacob ’06 who serves as secretary of the Munich Sister City Association of Greater Cincinnati, and the association’s president Hans Zimmer. 

The group toured campus and spoke with Ms. Karin Albrecht’s German students about the differences and similarities between the two cities.

Tomorrow, they will help officially open Oktoberfest Zinzinnati, a tradition enjoyed for over 30 years!

We gathered as a school community to celebrate Mass together.

Today’s First Reading, 1 Corinthians 12:31–13:13, reminded us of what it means to truly live with love: to be patient and kind, to put others before ourselves, to forgive, to seek truth, and to continue loving others even when it is difficult.

A powerful reminder that love is not simply something we feel; it is something we choose to live out each day.

Attention prospective 8th grade families! Learn about our tuition assistance options at Financial Aid & Scholarship Information Night on Tuesday, Sept. 22 from 6:00 - 7:00 PM.

Elder staff will present information on our financial aid program, merit-based scholarships, and the Ohio EdChoice Scholarship.

During the event, 8th-grade students are invited to attend a presentation on how to write an effective scholarship application.

Mr. Joe Priestle ‘74 and Mr. Tim Bley ‘86, members of the Elder Security Team, spoke to the Mr. Jansing’s Business Law Class last week.

Both being long tenured Cincinnati Police Officers, they discussed with the class their experiences while on patrol, accident investigations, under cover work, homicide investigations, K-9 patrols and other experiences.

The topics helped to expand the class coverage to other areas of law.

Fuel the Rivalry!

Starting today through September 28th, Elder is competing against St. X in a friendly gas station challenge to benefit the Elder Tuition Assistance Program.

Elder earns 5 cents per gallon at the designated Elder pump at:

BP on Glenway Avenue, across from Chick-fil-A
Shell on North Bend Road, across from St. Ignatius

The school with the most gallons pumped wins an additional $5,000!

Look for the purple at the pump and help Elder win the rivalry while supporting tuition assistance!

The Classes of 1979 & 1997 know how to win!

After leading the way in both dollars raised and participation during the Annual Fund’s Spring Day of Giving, these two classes earned a well-deserved tailgate at the Gilsey House before the East Central football game.

Alumni from both classes came together to celebrate their generosity, their school, and a great day of Elder Football!
