I'm talking at @MakeGamesSA's JHB meetup this month (today!) about how I'm abusing @unity3d's Tilemap to create an old-school style console renderer. Playing with random colours and glyps make for some interesting spreads.

So the pretty code is 40% slower than the ugly code. The pretty code uses the nice library interface. And it's only 2.3 seconds slower for 100mil operations. But the speed demon inside me is growling. *sigh*

Bumped into another personal hero today, @Grady_Booch . And I was blown away by his kindness and sincere interest. He is one of the thought leaders of our industry, yet remained incredibly humble. So perhaps unknowingly he taught me more about empathy today. Thank You Grady!
